This morning around 2000z I worked several European stations. The band
seemed quite lively today.
Stations were worked from Russia to England and Italy, with others heard
from the north.
Conditions seemed reasonable again, although it seems that many operators
are occupied doing other things

Just to say that I wholeheartedly endorse Roger’s comments on repeat 160 metre
contacts. We are not all certificate hunters and many are only too happy to
rag-chew. In 58 years on top band, I have no idea of my DXCC score but it’s
quite a few. So please Mark K3MSB and all you others who are frig
Top Band has been quite dismal on my sunrise lately (1950z) to the point of
me wondering why I should even bother getting out of bed early.
I have heard Z60A and the pileup, but there is no point in even trying to
call them, as they are only working Europe.
Our evenings have been mostly good

Well that's interesting that you even ask that !
Personally, I get a buzz out of working ANY DX station on 160m, and Nor
that
they have come up from S6 to S9.
So hopefully most Top Band people feel the same.

Roger, G3YRO has a valid point. 160m night time is always open
somewhere, maybe not where we want it.
It is unfortunate that modern technology has created a whole class of
folks in chat rooms pandering DX. The digital modes have tons of
activity often more than what the little window can toler

If I've worked you once or twice in the past I won't answer your CQ, unless
you're CQing with no responses, but then probably not.I've found in the
past that ops don't want repeat customers, they want fresh fish.

Wednesday evening into Thursday morning works for me. Roger, there is

160m has often been open from Europe right across America over the past few
weeks . . .
Some nights there are LOTS of NA stations on the band . . . other times it's
very quiet, and endless CQ calls produce no replies! (despite RBN showing
there is good propagation)
