Tim, Bill, thanks for posting the files. FWIW: I'm hearing it this evening on both 80 and 160. The sounds on both bands are essentially identical -- as far as this tired old audio engineer can discern. Now the kicker... in real time they sound almost nothing like the recording Tim forwarded.

Does anyone know the source of periodic wideband buzzes that sound like this: buzzz..buzzz..buzzz..buzzz (i.e. 4X then pause) buz..buz..buz (3X ~10 dB down). I believe this may be some sort of ionospheric sounder but I've heard this for decades, including when I was in Colorado. Hopefully
