Well, I'm also having a difficult time understanding what the root-cause
for the perceived issues may be.
At least in the case of using Async USB, the work is being done at
the DAC; with the SBT simply passing buffers to the DAC.
So, it's a real head scratcher to me in how
Great work, Triode! I am impressed. :)
Istalled it just to test if it works in my setup. (the .2 version)
ReadyNAS Ultra4 running LMS 7.7.2 -- stock SBT wlan 7.7.2. -- BJC coax

No problems playing 24/96 and 24/192. Just a flashing lock indicator and
a bit of noise in the speakers

I've just posted and updated version of the app. The kernel is
unchanged, so if you install over the top of the previous install it
will not need to download a new kernel.
Changes in this version:
- ability to turn usb dacs off and then on again without rebooting touch

There are actually three factors that affect the sound of a USB DAC:
1. The ground noise transmitted from the PC to the USB DAC via the

The DAC's clock jitter increases if ground is

I'm getting the Problem: can't access folder issue once I updated to
the most recent version of Software - 7.2. The files play fine either
through itunes or media monkey. I had searched and some people
suggested to roll back the software to version 7.1. I tried to figure

Well really, whinning ?
It is great that someone placed the free App for the upgrade, but the OP
was looking for opinions, at least intially.
Is this upgrade designed only to enhance the USB ?
If not then the OP might need the information that its not helping the

I have Buffalo II DAC, this DAC has also I2S input.
How to get I2S data stream from SBT ? Any chance ? Some USB-I2S

Any idea ?
The short answer is yes you can get the I2S data out of an SBT and I
have seen some sites with SBT,s connected this way. However there

Can you give us a little more info on your network setup? Do you have a
router in the setup? Are both the vortexbox and the Touch using static

sure the static IP is outside the range the DHCP server is allocating?
I have seen
I have a hard drive hooked up directly to SBT and the error comes up on
certain files not all. They were all tagged the same exact way through

When I go to digital output settings I don't see anything related to

You can add the Asus Xonar Essence One to the list of working high speed

Earlier troubles I had was because I used a usb to cat5 extender, but
this one is not compatible with usb 2.0.
Now the computer placed near the dac it's working fine in all

Hi,
I just received my Squeezebox touch today but had to find out that my

in an external USB case without additional power supply. The disk was

I've seen some reports of people successfully using the Touch with
bus-powered USB drive, but success rates are much better with USB drives
that have their own power supplies. Even with external power USB HDD

Use of a HDD without its own power supply directly to the Touch is not

might draw would cause the Touch to not function. That being said when I

I tried to install 7.7.1 on my computer and it didn't work. What is
confusing is that I can view the album art just fine, it's the opening
of the music files that are the issue. I never had this issue before.
I'm running the server via the sbt unit and have an external hard drive
hooked up.
The only oter difference I can point out is that when I updated the
folder on the hard drive I forgot the .xml extension. Can that be
what's causing my problem?
