I had a problem starting LMS in Win7 automatically at system startup.
It definitely works differently from Vista. I opted for a system service
at service but it never started. The problem was UAC questioning the
startup. Not good for an unattended system.

Excellent information - thank you. I'll try the hub too .. I tried the
hub workaround in EDO with no luck, but I'll try a physical hub anyway.
I am getting lots of ugly warnings in /var/log/messages on the Touch:

Most of those messages look related to the device going away...
Can you ensure it is plugged in and running and then post what: cat
/proc/asound/card/stream0 shows, where card is the name of the card
- do ls on that directory to find it..
The stream0 output is below. Note

The stream0 output is below. Note that the USB output info shows that
the sample rate clock bounces around a little. I was playing a sample
44.1/16 track and the sample rate kept bouncing between 44.116 kHz and
44.108 kHz. That seems a little suspicious to me.
This is good -

This is good - it means that async usb is working and the dac is sending
feedback messages to the player to speed up or slow down to keep its
buffer at the right level.
I'm surprised you don't hear it playing if this is what you see. What's
the audio output - do you hear

Is there a physical difference in USB cables that could explain why this
is happening? I just

Try different cables, but I am not sure this is it. Can you try the

Hi Triode -
I am listening to a 44.1/16 FLAC -- 256 kbps mp3 through my Mac to the
D100 now. It seems to work with 16, 24, and 32 bit depths

That is how it was set from the start and still is.
I think it will run if User Account Control is turned off because that
may be stopping the run at start up action. Not sure I want to do that,
though. Best left to set up manually as needed.
My user account control is set
I have purchased a schiit modi DAC. When plugging the DAC in it
recognized it and allowed me to select it from the advanced settings
output menu. Upon reboot it gets stuck in a loop. I was able to SSH
into the touch and captured the following before it rebooted on me. Any
ideas?
