It looks like a rather simple question but I can't seem to find the
answer: the 100% volume level on my remote (and Squeezebox iPad app)
for Squeezebox Classic is not loud enough. Obviously I can turn up the
volume on my audio receiver but then I can forget to change it back when
I stop

It's been a while since I had a SB3 on the network, so I'm working from
memory.
If you open the player settings in LMS (thee page where you can fix the
output to 100%) you will see something there about attenuation.
This affects the analog outputs on the SB3 - IIRC if you have a value
there of 63
I think I may have solved the problem now. Instead of ticking Run at
Login in Control panel I have ticked Run at Start Up:
15130
The server or squeezebox tray.exe now does not appear in the start up
folder nor does the tray appear bottom right of Windows. But, it now
appears as a running
Sounds good. And I assume you do know how to get to all the settings,
user interface, etc. via a web browser. I never actually use the control
panel in my windows installs (and doesn't even exist in vortexbox
installs.

Great!
Is this using the bt hub or the netgear?
Touch - Muse M50 EX TPA3123 T-Amp Mini - Acoustics Q10 speakers
Logitech Radio + remote
Raspberry Pi + Squeezeplug LMS + Squeezelite - Logitech Mini Boombox
speaker
Cubieboard + Fedora 18 + LMS 7.8 + Squeezelite - Soundwave SW100
bluetooth
Using the netgear.
It's still working and have restarted a few times just to check.
Garym, I can open the web controls in the usual way by clicking on the
LMS shortcut on desktop.

Note that replacing the bt hub solved all his other new problems (apple
tv, etc ) as well as the squeezebox problems. And there
BT home hub 4 was definitely a problem for my system because my Apple TV
and Roberts Internet radio are working so well now. I'm not going to
test the BT HH for fear of loosing my new set up. The internet is
littered with people reporting problems with streaming devices when
switching to BT Home
New here so I apologize if this has been covered. I'm trying to run an

with the support that sticks out. The diameters of the connectors are
too large to allow the cable into the optical port. What kind of cable
do I use and

An ordinary Toslink cable should fit ok.
Mine doesn't have a cover but it has a half round support that sticks

Did you buy your Touch new?
Sounds like a blanking plug or adaptor to me,
I bought both of mine new and they both have the support. I tried
pulling it out with no luck. It seems to be a support for a very skinny
Toslink cable. I don't know what else it could be.

It's got to be an adapter, maybe this type of cable:
Nope, neither of those will fit in the support--diameter of the
connector is too large. I'll try to figure out how to post a pic. This
is really perplexing.
