I was running LMS 7.9. When I tried to run the server(saw it under
system preferences ) It would start for a sec then stop. I deleted and
tried to re install. Now it does not show up under system preferences .
Cant log on to the local host. When I try to reinstall again it says
installation
Have you tried using the SPDIF?
They're usually trouble free.

It IS the problem. Create that folder and make sure you can write to it.
Then try again.

No, it's most likely a permissions issue on ~/Library/Logs/Squeezebox
which prevents LMS from starting. I thought the installer took care of
it, but quite obviously it still doesn't :-(. Never happened to me.
