Hmm .. still confused here.
Both my Boom Touch show the same IP address in their Squeezebox Info
section (94...), different from the DHCP assigned IP adresses.
However in the Wireless Network info pane, they show their individual
DHCP addresses (192).
Is this expected ?
They both
You are getting this IP info from LMS Settings Information? Not
MySB.com? IP 94... sounds more like your ISP address outside of your
network than a player IP within your network.

Both players are on MySB.com (LMS not running)

I think you are seeing the mysb.com external ISP address. The wifi pane
showing the correct local ip addresses in your LAN is correct.

Hi
I have set my Touch to fixed IP address on my network - but when I
checked the Settings of Touch display, I'm sure the IP address was
different.
Is this possible ?
Thanks

Yes .
Reserved IP on the router is not the same as static IP on the device the
DHCP is still giving out the adrees even if it is the same everytime .
This can malfunction restart router and Touch .
Also if you have configured a trulu static-IP on the Touch it would not
use or care for whatever
Thanks
I'm still confused though ..
I'm sure my other devices (Booms Duet) show the same IP addresses as
those I have fixed in router for them (router is the DHCP server).
So if I reboot Touch router, Touch will show address given to it by
the router ?

yes, but assuming you didn't setup a true static IP address on the Touch
itself. You wouldn't have done this by accident. It takes several
specific steps to setup up a static IP address on a
Doesn't assigning fixed address for Touch in router software/firmware or
entering fixed address manually into Touch amount to the same thing ?
If not which is preferable ?

Ah... mynb's post would suggest the latter ? If so why ? Surely the
address is fixed in my network

Shouldn't really matter which approach you use.
Agreed, as long as your DHCP server and clients aren't flaky. If one or
more are, then the true fixed IP is a better approach.
