Yes, that's the firmware that I accidentally got upgraded to and (having tried rolling back to no avail) I'm now back to the latest 7.8.0 trying to get EDO to install. So probably means we can rule out firmware as the problem, if its running OK on yours. I've got the SBT working on coax in the meantime, but very puzzling why EDO won't install. I noticed that in the applet menu, the choice of EDO it gives me to install is version 0.10... I thought EDO got to around 0.80? But there doesn't appear to be any option other than 0.10... Also Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones. Wireless Xubuntu 18.04 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. I've been using an SB Touch for years with EDO, connected via a powered USB to an Audiolab MDAC and running LMS 7.9.2. Never had a problem. Then today I was fiddling with the SBT and somehow I accidentally ended up selecting 'software update'. It updated the SBT firmware from 7.7.3 to 7.8. When it finished rebooting, the EDO was gone. So I proceeded to reinstall the EDO applet - it seems to be doing a reinstall/reboot cycle etc, but once done, there is no "Digital Output" option in the Audio menu. There is also no Digital Output option in the Advanced menu. I've tried a factory reset of the SBT, reinstalling 7.7.3 firmware... not sure what else to try... any ideas? Managed to work it out in the end. Posting the solution in case anyone else comes across the same issue. The answer was hiding around pages 220-221 of this thread. EDO was reinstalling but the Kernel update process wasn't happening, as Zlartybartfast alluded to. The kernel repository files no longer exist where Triode kept them, but they were saved down in a new location by Michael and Ralph. So I just needed to go to the Plugings section of the LMS web browser and add the repository address below. http://ralph_irving.users.sourceforge.net/edo/edo-repo.xml When I then rebooted the SBT and tried EDO again, this time it was able to also perform the kernel update. And hey presto, EDO working perfect again. I have two touches. Each will not stay connected to my new Eero Mesh System (WiFi). They disconnect over night, over day, over anything. Infrequently I can get a reconnection though the Advanced/network menu item; most frequently have to reboot with power off, and that usually works the first time, but not always. These can be in the same room with a Eero Pro with the same poor results. I have Classics, Receivers, Radios and Booms distributed all over the house, garage and shop which have no problems whatsoever. I sure miss my Netgear Nighthawk. Anyone have any thoughts?? [SlimDevices: Touch] Dsd
Hi, I am running LMS 7.9.2 under MAC OS Mavericks on Mac Mini. I have Squeezebox Touch with installed software version 7.8.0. I installed DSD Player plug-in (latest version is 1.0.1) and I also configured it to use DSD over PCM. In the advanced-> File Type I enabled DSD playback for dsf and dff files. Squeezebox Touch is connected to the DSD capable DAC (Pioneer U-05) with coax digital cable. On the squeezebox Touch I have installed EDO. Still I do not get anything but hum (with lot of rebuffering). Does anybody have any idea what might be the problem here ? Try the Touch wired. I have no problems playing 24/192 flacs using ethernet, but it hiccups if I do it on wireless. When I reduced the quality of DSD stream I have got the sound but with lot of interrupts due to buffering. So it seems that the main issue is wireless connection. When I look into the strength of the WiFi signal at the Squeezebox Touch it shows me: 100% ! Does it mean that DSD reproduction is not possible if SB Touch uses WiFi ?
