Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch and LMS see different artist than the tags
After I posted this I went and tried the most obvious first step, remove the files, re-index, replace the files, and re-index. That worked. jmkeuning's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108658 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
[SlimDevices: Touch] Touch and LMS see different artist than the tags
I've ripped the Johnny Cash American series and a few tracks from one album are showing the Artist as the parent folder (-Johnny Cash - American 1-6, flac-). Again, it is only the last four tracks on one album. The artist and album artist tag are both -Johnny Cash- but LMS shows artist as -Johnny Cash - American 1-6, flac-. Media Monkey shows the tags properly. Thoughts on why this happens and how to fix it? jmkeuning's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108658 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] What Synology NAS for Spotty?
Michael, Many thanks for your time and patience. I have now sorted it and now have Spotty loaded, and I'm listening to Spotify on my SBT controlled by my phone. Ace! For your information my NAS is definitely a DS116. Its such letdown for LMS Remember the times, Logitech just acquired Slimdevices 2006 with a product plan Duet, Touch, Radio. Logitech provide expertise mgmt in manufacturing in China - so Touch h/w and inventory was probably already built in mid 2009 - can't change h/w spec. Product launch details would already been released to Logitech staff for training etc.. also probably in mid 2009 A small company can change quickly - big one not so easily. 2008 - Crash - consumer spending down. So sales not as good as expected in 2010 and probably upgraded spec would have to wait until inventory sold. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108643 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Maybe they should have dropped it ? Its such letdown for LMS . Touch is great player ( i have 3 i love them ), but releasing the server on Touch then people expect it to work just as good as any LMS server . And apparently some folks still expect it to perform . If it where not there it would not have wasted everyones time . Its impressive as its almost 10 years old . With todays SoC would probably cost less and just works. It was not an afterthought - the expectation was there from the beginning based on the fact at the time LMS was running on devices such as Linksys NSLU2 (266MHz, 32Mb ram). However, development took longer than expected, as all parts of system didn't perform as well as expected/hoped - the SoC, Linux, UI and there was a lot of time spent on making performance acceptable. The price point determined the specs of the h/w. In the end, Radio was released before Touch becauase Touch was maybe at least 6 months late. Lots of effort was put into getting LMS going on Touch as I think it was a design promise and couldn't be dropped. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108643 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] What Synology NAS for Spotty?
Its difficult to help if you dont give any information. Head over to Settings/Advanced/Spotty and authenticate. Restart your player should it not show the plugin in its menus. And if that fails then you might want to give us the information Ive been asking for...
