I had a similar issue with Ubuntu Gnome after upgrading to 14.10. Had a
double mouse pointer, but only on the main screen, not on the two other
screens. Disabled screens one by one and renabled them and the problem
was solved. Don't know if this is related to your problem, seems more

MTP can access locked device
For other reasons, I just moved all my ~/.* config files to a backup
directory, rebuilt and reinstalled the NVIDIA driver (from NVIDIA's
package), and this bug is gone, on my workstation at least.
Both laptop and workstation were upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04 (apt-get
dist-upgrade) , so perhaps

Is dnsmasq getting its DNS server information from resolvconf,
which in turn gets it from /etc/network/interfaces? Or, does
dnsmasq take what it likes from /etc/network/interfaces directly,
discarding the rest?
