This problem has reappeared yesterday after quite a time but as there were no
new updates I can not think of a possible cause for it to reappear. There was
an update to the anacron software and I wonder if that update could have
restored the default installation keyboard layout somehow.
@John Belton, on some systems it seems to happen only very occasionally.
It should be fixed once we get the updated ibus.

With Lubuntu 14.04 64bits (Toshiba Satellite) and Ubuntu 14.04 64bits
(Dell Latitude 7440) ibus freeze the LXDE desktop or turn very high CPU
usage with Chromium, GnuCash and Geany. When I disabled the ibus the
system is ok but is not possible to type the accents on spanish keyboard

comment out the 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], line in
/etc/apport/crashdb.conf to get apport-bug working again.
