This happens at log out. Reboot and shutdown work fine but any attempt
to log out will freeze X. I can't even switch to a tty. The screen
freezes for about 30 seconds then drops to the shell but is still
frozen. The only way to correct the problem is a hard reboot.

Just accept that when a nautilus window of external media is minimized - it
minimizes to the icon of that external media, not the Files icon
Get over it, it there is some reasonable way to have it minimize to the Files
icon it will happen,

(correctly) when EDT or gibberish is passed to date via the TZ env

Just to clarify, the problem with TZ=EDT isn't that it reports EDT
wrong, per se, but that any unrecognized time zones show as UTC. Now,
why TZ=EDT isn't valid when `date` on its own here reports EDT just
fine, is beyond me :)

Waking from suspend, everything seems normal, except the graphical
elements and text on my desktop are not drawn properly. Sometimes,
moving the mouse over icons can cause them to be redrawn, sometimes not.
It appears not to matter how I initiate the suspend (e.g. by closing
@Tony, sure, whatever I can do to help with this, let me know. No
problem with installing packages.
