I have the same issue. Would only like to add:
- Changing settings in Unity Tweak Tool has the same effect (unwanted
logout). This is not restricted to 'Window spread', i.e. happens when
changing other settings, too (I tried 'Hotcorners' and 'Window
snapping')
- My Window Spread had worked OK
I'm not sure I get what's the problem: what exact variable (or tunable
file containing variables) do you think should be made available to
every profile, and is currently not?
My understanding of this comment (as a non-native English speaker) is
that there is a possibility that some tunables

I'm quite sure I had the same bug this weekend, the phone was really
unusable, kept freezing every few seconds, I used the terminal app to
see that it was the usual burst of PropertiesChanged.
I don't have stats and logs as I was out, and the phone died before I got home.
