(After I rebooted my pc successfully, I did "sudo systemctl stop
avahi-daemon.service avahi-daemon.socket"), and then

Christopher if I don't install the xorg edgers ppa and just install the
Nvidia drivers the font rendering problem is no where near as bad. It
still flickers but all fonts are present on the screen. As soon as the
Intel microcode is installed and I do a reboot it's perfect.

did a locate kde.xml, as ir was mentioned in another comment, and found it here:
/usr/share/mime/packages/kde.xml
I guess some program had it down as a dependency, so now I have it under
gnome.

Hi I am using a Nexus 7 - LTE (ie I get the images from http://system-
image.tasemnice.eu/ubuntu-touch)
While the bluetooth icon is there, it doesn't stay on.
I can check the box, but the device does not become discoverable.
