when booting from a live CD for some reason, took me a while to figure

even where there are empty tags. I have checked a few cases where I get

Looks like dependency problems in the python libraries.
But since first reporting, in the meanwhile I used Kubuntu Backports to
upgrade to plasma 5.5.3, qt 5.5.1 and I am running kernel amd64
4.4.0-040400-generic from ubuntu kernel ppa.
I also tried newer xorg from xorg-edgers and oibaf.

Note that your phone appears to be connecting and disconnecting every
second for a while; there's probably a hardware issue with your usb
port, cable, hub, cable, or phone. Try replacing these one at a time --
I suspect the hub first, but bad cables can be hard to spot.

With apparmor enabled it seems to complain that it is unable to open the leases

This one works better in that is doesn't sit and spin. It will at least say
"connect to the internet" when the connection changes.

Part of the problem is that while d/p/dont-stop-dbus.patch prevents dbus
from being stopped, it doesn't prevent another one from starting, thus
systemctl restart dbus.service will not stop the current one but will
indeed launch a new instance.

restart unity8-dash MIR_CLIENT_INPUT_RECEIVER_REPORT=log
Now log in to the device and tail -f unity8-dash.log You should see the
input events coming in. Now reproduce the bug. Do the input events keep
getting logged?
