the terminal, selected Analog Output by right-arrowing and then

Correct. And I'm not trying to be pedantic but this is confusing people.
The fix landed in lp:unity8 revision 2329 on 15 April. So that's 'Fix
Committed'.
What's wrong is to say 'Fix Released' in Ubuntu, because I just downloaded the
latest unity8 source code for Ubuntu
Fresh install of 16.04 on hardware that ran 14.04 faultlessly. 14.04 has
sound, 16.04 not. The problem seems not to be at the driver level: the
same drivers (snd_hda_intel, snd_oxygen) are allocated to the same
hardware devices as seen whith lshw -C sound. In the sound settings, the
output devices
I can only guess that the Ubuntu Desktop team has not been motivated to
add such new configuration features because of the pending switch to
Unity8.
The good news is that Unity8 frees us from the link to upstream
Gnome/GTK that Unity7 is subject to. So in theory we will have more
freedom to add

New finding: installing xserver-xorg-video-intel actually solved the
problem for me, LibreOffice is no longer causing Xorg to crash.
Previously I think Xorg was working using modesetting driver instead of
intel, though I might be wrong.
My HW: Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) HD Graphics
I've been testing with 4.6.0 which is more recent...so I'm not sure how
and older kernel could fix it. Is there some way that could happen?

texmaker (for example in a terminal) with :

pavucontrol shows Display Port/HDMI output as "(unplugged)" and cannot
be chosen as a sink. This is only a problem with the dock; audio works
when plugging HDMI through the laptop's DP input.
The audio did work with the dock in Ubuntu 14.04. Did something in jack

Testing from today, 1 out of 10 failed on the download with unknown
server error, when retrying the particular download from the command
line it reports Bad gateway. Querying the other messages on all other
gateways simply reports the message is not found, which is correct as
the ack was delivered
Another symptom. The network interface on the device was busy at the
time two MMS were sent to it. Nuntium did not make any attempt to
retrieve them. After the network interface was not busy, a third message
was sent and all 3 messages were then received. (about 15 mins later)

python stacktrace during 'apport-bug'
This differs from bug 1578665 because here the application surface is
not even created before the prompt comes up (actually, it's not created
until the prompt is dismissed).
In bug 1578665 the application gets to create its surface but doesn't
draw on it until the prompt is dismissed.

Duplicate signature for Package problems
This is only about the e-mail address, but there are other fields with
placeholder text. Should those also have their placeholder text removed?
Note that the secondary "confirm your password" entry box does not have
a separate label. We also use placeholders in the pay-ui design, without

Title:
I had to stop using my mx4. Even with a stable connection it is not possible
for me to receive or make calls for sure. Connection drops while dialing or
when I try accept a call.
The first two days after factory reset it was more stable, but know it's just
not usable anymore. If you need any
Kernel-Update (4.4.0-22) fixed it for me.
