A big sorry from my side ... i totally forgot that i did also boot into Windows
during the last months at least once ... looks like windows update or something
similar broke the device, installing updates in that other system and rebooting
to ubuntu did the trick.
I had to reenable the profiles
Thanks, now that the plymouth --ping change has landed, this should be
moved to verification-done.

/ifupdown-hotplug is not executable resulting in an error message at
boot about missing permissions on that file and some negative side-

I've renamed both profiles and pavucontrol doesn't show the dock anymore.
aplay runs just fine, however not any of the both devices (front or back jack)
play the sound

it feels fragile and I wish there was a way to make them work
together...

First of all some comments:
- why was znetconf used and not chzdev ?
- I'm a bit puzzled reading about "rpm" in combination with Ubuntu
even if a universe rpm package exists, I assume a network-manager deb
package was used, right?
- afaik the network-manager package (that also incl. the nmcli)

I restored the apt-clone file in a container (with rc-policy.d disabling
services), tried a straight apt dist-upgrade, and that worked. Will
check with do-release-upgrade tomorrrow.
