16.10. Running Checkbox passes the sound tests (as audio is played), but
when using unity8 apps no sound comes out. However, sound does come out
from Libertine containerized apps.

with xenial-updates, there is suddenly a dependency [isc-dhcp-client]
not previously there. please mark this as recommends/suggests/enhances
instead of as a depends, as it is not critical to the core functionality
of the software. since ubuntu now defaults to installing
it appears that my symptoms also relate to this bug report. however,
i'd like to add that the feedback provided by the system, at least in my
particular case, is extremely unhelpful. i think it can be better.
i have a very minimal virtual guest, running 16.04. it has a "physical"
wired
LVM caching enabled in Ubuntu 16.04 (or, to be completely honest, Linux
Mint 18) is also incompatible with the older caching implementation in
Linux Mint Debian Edition 2 (i.e. Debian Jessie). I hoped the following
procedure would create an LVM cache that works for both Jessie and
Xenial:

I saw this bug in Kate and in Gwenview (and probably other KDE apps). Most
buttons had no icons at all for me. I had used Menta from MATE as icon theme.
The last comment fixed it. Particularly, selecting "Oxygen" as theme in "KDE
system settings" (step 3 above) helped.

where sudo was segfaulting when a user authenticated via sssd. I can
confirm this fixes the issue I was having. User's commands now execute

not be triggered when you delete a kernel. What is happening is that
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01autoremove-kernels is being set to prevent

Same problem here (in my case the host is an x86_64 Fedora 22 box and
the Docker container is running Precise); note that *anything* that
tries to update SELinux context will fail due to the Docker-unaware
libselinux. This includes a simple cp -a. Since cp -a appears to be

ntpd doesn't have to be shipped with a configuration that will launch it
as a daemon. It can easily be used to do ntpdate's job without
daemonizing.
Also, the ntpd binary is actually only around 2/3 the size of the
ntpdate binary, so I think you may be backwards on which one is bloated.
This bit me yet again, and this time, I had to add one more package to
the list (lib64z1-dev, which is simply the x64 equivalent of
lib32z1-dev, which we already knew to be problematic). The complete list
of packages to force-remove to resolve this is now:

button generates button 4 events, the right button generates button 5
events, and the middle button generates nothing at all.

I have a workaround for this, use Gnome instead of Unity.
It took me a while to realize/figure out that it's pretty painless to
just run a different window manager on Ubuntu. I did look at maybe
switching to a different lock screen but there was no straightforward
way to do that.

This bug affects me too! First started having problems in Ubuntu 12.04,
left mouse button wouldn't work 90% of the time. Right clicking works
fine. Tried different mice, different USB ports, same thing. Upgraded to
Ubuntu 14.04 and now the problem's even worse - left mouse button
doesn't work at

as of the latest updates published about 2014-09-03, this now happens
after every reboot. It used to be just after an update, then you'd turn
off large text, and it would be fine. Now, every time I reboot, it turns
itself back on. I tried adding
/home/ben/.config/autostart/largetextfix.desktop
Fix confirmed. Marking as 'verification-done'.

I've also seen this problem where the input field is missing on one

One big thing to consider with this is that some clouds (i.e CloudSigma
and Joyent) use a serial console as a meta-data channel. In at least
one case, activating a getty on the meta-data channel tty will result in
the instance being unbootable. For this reason, I think that baking

example, ာ (m key with Burmese layout selected) displays fine by itself.
But following က (u key) nothing appears on the screen.
