I gotta add that sometimes after boot-up the indicator works as expected i.e. is visible although bluetooth is turned off. I can't tell why it works correctly from time to time and then fails again. If I happen to identify a pattern I'll post about it here... -- You received this bug

I'm also on 14.04 and can confirm the behaviour Andre described in post #4: If I turn off bluetooth the indicator disappears after the next reboot. As long as bluetooth stays turned on the indicator remains visible regardless of rebooting. If bluetooth is turned off and the indicator is not

I spoke too soon -- the phone UX spec has the same terminology as the wiki wrt when the indicator should be visible. Regardless, as pat- mcgowan pointed out this bug is for desktop so the phone UX spec is moot. That brings us back to my original point, the current visibility logic is as
