Thanks for reporting this bug and help making ubuntu better! I don't know if this bug is special to the ubuntu session or related to the gnome-settings-daemon. Something to check: - installing the gnome vanilla session (sudo apt install gnome-session), reboot and switch to the "GNOME" session
