Human interface devices stop working on USB 2.0
I encountered the same problem on a TECRA A8 laptop when installing
Ubuntu 64bit desktop 14.04.2. In dmesg the HW audio codec is never
identified (as shown above). I then installed Ubuntu 64bit desktop
14.04.1 and the audio works as expected (dmesg shows HW codec as
ALC262). I have attached the
F1,F2,F5,F6: no change, no output

send evdev events for these keys.

Within a real termianl Ctrl+Alt+F2 i was not able to reproduce the
failure. I used internal keyboard of my Gigabyte T1005 and an external
USB-Keyboard. I recognized different delay and repeat-key
I ran that device, and the results are slightly different:
F1,F2,F5,F6: no change, no output
F3,F4,F7,F9 : no output, did produce output in previous Asus device

F8,F10,F11,F12: now produces output, did not produce output in previous

Ah, thanks! That's a bit weird -- on powersave false wake-on-lan is
*enabled*. So it seems that with WOL disabled your computer doesn't stay
suspended, but with WOL enabled it does.
Cross-check:
sudo ethtool -s wlan0 wol g ; sudo systemctl suspend

The logrotate file supplied can not work with Upstart or systemd because
it calls `service rsyslog rotate` -- neither support custom actions.
Instead a custom script to send SIGHUP to rsyslog depending on the init
system should be used. It can just use
