  all need to use plural forms, just like messages "%1 missed call" /
  "%1 missed calls" are using them in indicator/messagingmenu.cpp

  Note that plural forms are required even if you know that there will be more

digit of the number (eg. twenty-one will use the same form as one).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1475945] [NEW] blacklisting i2c_i801 breaks trackpad detection on Acer C710, plus other hardware

2015-07-18 Thread Ewan

as well as preventing trackpad detection in the case of Acer C710, there

blacklist entry has required support effort.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1475942] [NEW] Unity Notifcation Daemon does not support buttons

2015-07-18 Thread tellapu
Public bug reported:

Desktop Unity Notification Daemon does not support buttons, not like almost
other desktops (see attachment). The possibility to add buttons for the
developer of software would be really helpful.
E.g. Roger (http://en.tabos.org/home) a tool for the VOIP/SIP-Router Fritzbox
shows incoming calls and the notification gives you the options to Accept,
Decline, Cancel or Ok the call. But as the unity notification daemon does not
support buttons roger falls back to the not elegant GTK-window.
It would be great and helpful if the notification daemon would have the options
for buttons. According to this bug report
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1384730) Unity8 will have it,
hopefully also the desktop versions.

** Affects: unity (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1449778] Re: [dialer-app] + [messaging-app] remove pop up asking to select a SIM

2015-07-18 Thread L D
I don't think any SIM should be selected by default unless the user has
set it to be the default.

One improvement would be rather than a "No SIM card selected" popup, it
should offer you the choice, eg: a popup with two buttons, one to use
SIM 1 and another to use SIM 2.

Bug description:
  krillin vivid and RTM

  Current behaviour: If the device has both SIM slots occupied, users
  are asked on action to select a SIM card for either placing a phone
  call or sending a text message. This can be very annoying for users
  because on first time launch there is a different pop up asking a
  similar question and explaining to users where to amend their default
  SIM for outgoing communication.

  --UX comment--

  The desired solution is to change the text of the popup on first time launch
and remove the popup on action.
  A 3rd popup appears on the dialer app after user made a phone call and didn't
select a default SIM. This should be removed as well.
  The SIM card in the first SIM slot should be selected by default and the
first popup will inform users where to alter the selection and change the
default SIM for outgoing communication.

Bug description:
  When I want to call my primary target number, I have to tap these:
  dialer_app -> contact list -> favorites -> contact -> one number -> call
button (which is too small BTW)

  This is so unoptimal. Please think about create some new button:
   - to the header of dialer: a button to favorites
   - to the contact list: a button to call the primary number
  Than on the contact list we need a way to change primary number, and
  after all of this, the usage path will chane to this:

  dialer_app -> favorites -> call primary

  Maybe the favorites would be the default screen, so:

  dialer_all -> call primary :D Wow!

  I hope, it is not too big work. It would be big UX boost.

  I have some other ideas too, if you are interesting, I will write those to
you,
  just ask once ;D.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1475937] [NEW] No phone icon

2015-07-18 Thread L D
Public bug reported:

In the contacts app, when you select a contact, there is an icon next to
each phone number, which if pressed will open a new message to that
number. Similarly there should be a phone button next to each number,
which should immediately start a call. At present you have to press on
the number, which then opens the dialer, and then you have to click on
call (and depending on settings on dual SIM phones, also select the
number to call from). This makes calling a contact long winded. It takes
way too long to make a call on this phone.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1270257] Re: NetworkManager failed to function after suspend and resume

2015-07-18 Thread Magnus Hoff
The workaround I am currently using is to use the b43-driver instead of
wl (sudo rmmod wl ; sudo modprobe b43). This means forgoing support for
802.11n, I think. At least I can no longer see 5GHz networks. However,
it also means that the network reliably reconnects after suspend and
resume, in my experience.

Bug description:
  Unity's shutdown/restart dialogue is not working when another application is
registered to LauncherEntry interface of Unity DBus.
  It seems we have this bug when Cairo-Dock (and its Launcher-API-Deamon),
DockbarX or Plank are launched before Unity.

  [How to reproduce this bug]
  Simply launch this script at startup (launched before Unity). It will watch
'com.canonical.Unity.LauncherEntry' bus interface:
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-team/cairo-dock-plug-ins/plug-ins/view/head:/Dbus/data/cairo-dock-launcher-API-daemon.py

  [Original description]
  Using latest stable release (3.3.1). Just upgraded to Saucy Salamander in
Ubuntu. When cairo dock is set to automatically run at boot up the options to
shutdown/restart do not work from the top menu panel next to the clock. When
run manually after boot the shutdown/restart works fine. The shutdown/restart
options do work fine from cairo dock/terminal but just mess up the
shutdown/restart from the top menu panel

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1267680] Re: package gdb-arm-none-eabi (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/man/man1/gdb.1.gz', which is also in package gdb 7.6.50.20131218

2015-07-18 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
> Did it build the older version of gdb before you applied your patch?

I didn't, but I believe it would have gotten much the same result.
Looking at the publishing history, I found version "6" as an example:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdb-arm-none-eabi/6. So, when I
look at what binary packages it produced, they are actually called "gdb-
arm-none-eabi 7.8-0ubuntu1+6"
(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/wily/+package/gdb-arm-none-eabi).

Like I mentioned above, I believe this package picks up the first part
of the version number from the gdb package when building. It is
unfortunately not clear to me exactly how this happens. Furthermore, I'm
somewhat worried that in doing so, my tiny little patch has actually
pulled in a ton of other changes when it actually built and the version
number was tweaked.

>It looks like the version in the new changelog entry should probably be
`2` instead of having an ubuntu prefix, since the prefix is already
built into the version number.

Well, the extra "ubuntu" wasn't there when I wrote it. :P In more
seriousness, I'm quite sure what the appropriate version number here is.
Appending ubuntuX is customary when adding a patch in Ubuntu, though I
also considered .1 (I'll explain that one more below).

I can't really use 2, because that version exists upstream. If you look
at the changelog at http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/gdb-arm-
none-eabi.git/log/, one of the lines is tagged debian/1. Above it is two
(or three, if you include the changelog entry) commits, which are then
tagged as debian/2. This means that version 2 exists and it contains of
those two patches since version 1. Since I've only taken one of the
patches I can't call it version 2 without being confusing and probably
misleading since people would also expect the other patch to be present
if they read this changelog. So in reality, it's simply version 1 "plus
some extra stuff", which is why I also considered version 1.1 to
indicate it has slightly more than version 1, but it isn't a straight
import of a newer version.

  [Impact]
  Currently it is not possible to install this package alongside gdb. See also
comments #8 and #9.

  [Test case]
  Attempt to install `gdb-arm-none-eabi` where `gdb` is already installed.

  [Regression potential]
  The patch used is one available in a newer version of the package.
  There is some confusion regarding the version number and how much changes has
actually gone into this rebuild, see comment #9.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1464876] Re: Please update Game_Music_Emu plugin to 0.6.0

2015-07-18 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
We might be talking past each other, but to me it looks like this plugin
is contained within its own package. And that this package could be
updated to the latest version, possibly independent of Audacious. But
fair enough, I've marked both packages as affected now. :)

Bug description:
  I have a new Dell XPS 13 9343 with the HiDPI touch screen and am using
  an external display port monitor. Occasionally, the mouse cursor
  disappears (sometimes after screen lock, other times just normal
  usage). I saw something on stack exchange that said this might help:

  gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.cursor active false

  I've done this and it sometimes helps and sometimes doesn't. I've also
  just seen the cursor come back on its own after a few minutes without
  doing anything. Trying to interact with the touch screen, then the
  mouse has no effect. Unplugging and replugging the mouse has no
  effect. Using the touchpad has no effect.

  I am running Ubuntu 13.10 on my Macbook Pro 2009 laptop. I cannot find
  a report on this bug when googling it. So I thought I would file the
  bug.

  Literally, the switcher randomly just activates itself, and then the
  icons show in the middle of the screen as per usual. The stranger
  behavior is what happens next:

  1) The switcher might automatically switch to a seemingly random app from the
selection.
  2) The switcher will just be displayed, but I cannot actually make it go away
by clicking on one of the app icons. Instead, it just displays for however long
it 'feels like,' typically ~5 seconds.

  So.. That's it. Hope I can get some help :D

--limit 3/minute -j LOG --log-level 5 --log-prefix '[UFW BLOCK COUNTRIES] '
  -A ufw-before-logging-input -m geoip --src-cc KR,CN,VN,UA,BR,VE,JP -j DROP

  i get the message UFW INIT error.

  if i manualy add these rules with iptables they work fine, but these
  rules dissapeer after a while, how come ?

  and yes, even if i add these rule to ufw-before-input the same happens.
  I cant figure this out so im reporting this as a bug.

  At least how can i make it so that it stops removing (somehow) my
  geoip rules.. i really need them for security reasons.

  Im running ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Title:
  Cannot insert IPV6 rule before IPV4 rules

Status in ufw package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I am unable to insert any rules concerning IPV6 before IPV4 rules. Thus, when
IPV4 rules are numbered 1 to 5 and IPV6 rules are numbered 6 to 10, the
following command:
  [code]
  ufw insert 1 deny from 2a02:2210:12:a:b820:fff:fea2:25d1
  [/code]
  errors with "ERROR: Invalid position '1'".

  However, the command
  [code]
  ufw insert 6 deny from 2a02:2210:12:a:b820:fff:fea2:25d1
  [/code]
  succeeds.

  In my case, this poses a problem, since I am trying to insert rules
  from a script against brute force attacks. The script needs to insert
  blocking rules before a number of other rules that open up some ports
  (since the order of rules is important in ufw). However since the
  number of IPV4 rules will be changing all the time, the position of
  the first available number for an IPV6 address is hard to determine.

  Proposed solution: either allow IPV6 rules to precede IPV4 rules, or
  implement a keyword defining the first available position; e.g. "ufw
  insert first deny from 2a02:2210:12:a:b820:fff:fea2:25d1".

  BTW: this was all figured out with ufw version 0.31.1-1, Ubuntu
  12.04.5 LTS,

  if the `ufw xxx` command is interrupt by ctrl+c, the cleanup is not called,
  so every ufw cmd afterwards cause error:

  ```
  ERROR: initcaps
  I think we should catch error and cleanup in a finally statement.
  Or cleanup related rules before ufw init.
[Touch-packages] [Bug 1155250] Re: ufw should error if arguments given to "ufw enable"
  ufw should error if arguments given to "ufw enable"
Status in ufw package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress
Bug description:
  Consider the following:
  # ufw enable OpenSSH
  Command may disrupt existing ssh connections. Proceed with operation (y|n)? y
  Firewall is active and enabled on system startup
  ...but of course the OpenSSH application profile has not been loaded;
  the word "OpenSSH" was silently ignored.
  It is (IMO) a reasonable user error - the syntax "sounds" like it
  should work.  And the warning message is a great red herring, sigh.
  So, I believe that ufw should check to see if there are other
  arguments specified after single-argument commands, and throw an
  error.
  behavior verified on ubuntu 12.04 Version: 0.31.1-1; i took a quick
  look at the ufw release notes and it does not seem this is addressed
  in any subsequent releases.
  thanks!
  go to /var/log/ulog/syslogemu.log by default.
  Please add a configuration option or configuration file option to
[Touch-packages] [Bug 1421559] Re: [Clock][ux] Should be able to silence alarm using power button
2015-07-18 Thread Bartosz Kosiorek
** Description changed:
  krillin @rtm #16
  Reproduce:
  1. Set alarm
  2. Let alarm go off, but do not turn it off immediately—do not touch the
phone surface, wait until the screen goes black
  3. Try to disable alarm
  What happens:
  You need to turn on screen, press "OK" on alarm
  What should have happened:
- I should be able to silence the alarm using the power button—like on iOS and
Android.
+ I should be able to silence the alarm using the power button. On iOS and
Android power button enable snooze to prevent accidential silent alarm.
  Rationale: I set two alarms on weekdays, one at 07:07 and one at 09:07.
  When I wake up at 07:07 and go to school, the 09:07 alarm goes off
  during class. Removing the phone from my pocket, swiping, unlocking and
  dismissing the alarm, always takes about 3-4 rings.
  Also when someone forget phone in the office, then it will be no
  possibility to disable alarm.
  Related to bug 1340329.
Title:
  [Clock][ux] Should be able to silence alarm using power button
Status in Ubuntu Clock App:
  Incomplete
Status in Ubuntu UX:
  Triaged
Status in indicator-datetime package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Bug description:
  krillin @rtm #16
  Reproduce:
  1. Set alarm
  2. Let alarm go off, but do not turn it off immediately—do not touch the
phone surface, wait until the screen goes black
  3. Try to disable alarm
  What happens:
  You need to turn on screen, press "OK" on alarm
  What should have happened:
  I should be able to silence the alarm using the power button. On iOS and
Android power button enable snooze to prevent accidential disabling alarm.
  Rationale: I set two alarms on weekdays, one at 07:07 and one at
  09:07. When I wake up at 07:07 and go to school, the 09:07 alarm goes
  off during class. Removing the phone from my pocket, swiping,
  unlocking and dismissing the alarm, always takes about 3-4 rings.
  Also when someone forget phone in the office, then it will be no
  possibility to disable alarm.
  Related to bug 1340329.
  Issue: The time picker occupies the entire width of the alarm page and
  yet the actual dials occupy only a fraction of that width resulting in
  users accidentally changing other column values.
  May be we should increase the width of the dials?
  Change login while other user is logged in: sometimes
  crashes/freezes/hangs
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  New
Bug description:
  When trying to login with a user account while another user is already
  logged in, Ubuntu sometimes crashes/hanges/freezes!
  This bug exists for many years, so for many Ubuntu versions - even in
  the latest LTS versions with fresh standard installation (Unity), 64
  Bit. During the years of this bug, I had different computers
  (hardware) with different graphics cards (nVidia, AMD) different
  Ubuntus (32 Bit, 64 Bit, LTS, non-LTS). This bug bugs us for so many
  years because we have two computers (exchanged every couple of years
  with fresh Ubuntu installations) that each has multiple login accounts
  (for all family members). Every once in a while one user wants to
  login while another is already logged in. The login screen allowws to
  login while another user is logged in, so this should basically work.
  Other scenario is, the the logged in user simple loggs in to another
  user via the system menu (top right).
  The results are miscellanious: sometimes it works, sometimes, the
  graphics get distorted, sometimes, the screen just turns black
  (sometimes with a white cursopr line blinking), sometimes it freezes,
  sometimes it crashes. All in all: it's very unstable and buggy.
[Touch-packages] [Bug 1464848] Re: Missing german translation
2015-07-18 Thread Sworddragon
After updating to language-pack-gnome-de 1:15.10+20150709 (and its
dependencies) this issue is fixed for eog but not for nano. Also I'm
noticing several untranslated parts on the dialogs on package
configuration:
- flashplugin-installer 11.2.202.491ubuntu1 (completely untranslated)
- resolvconf 1.77ubuntu1 (the first dialog is untranslated)
- keyboard-configuration 1.108ubuntu5 (at least the entry "Do not configure
keyboard; keep kernel keymap" in the first dialog)
- libpam-runtime 1.1.8-3.1ubuntu3 (all selectable entries)
- libpaper1 1.1.24+nmu2ubuntu3 (all selectable entries)
Also on reconfiguring all packages on my system most of stdout/stderr are not
translated (this seems to be a generic issue so I have not listed now a package
for this).
  [4.7 Regression] Wrong optimization with -O2
Status in gcc-4.8 package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Bug description:
  As reported by Mike  Mirzayanov on GCC Bugzilla:
  See https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=60766 and
http://codeforces.com/blog/entry/11450
  Ubuntu 14.04 includes GCC 4.8.2 which is affected with bug.
  Please upgrade to GCC 4.8.3 or later  in which the bug is fixed.
  "
  Compile with -O2 and input 9
  Compile the following code with -O2:
  ~
  #include
  #include
  #include
  using namespace std;
  int main() {
  int n;
  cin >> n;
  for (int x = 0; x <= n; x++) {
  if (n == x + (x + 1) + (x + 2)) {
  cout << x + 2 << " " << x + 1 << " " << x << endl;
  exit(0);
  }
  }
  cout << -1 << endl;
  return 0;
  }
  ~
  Start binary and enter 9
  It will print "-1", but expected output is "4 3 2".
