This bug exists for many years, so for many Ubuntu versions - even in the latest LTS versions with fresh standard installation (Unity), 64 Bit. During the years of this bug, I had different computers (hardware) with different graphics cards (nVidia, AMD) different Ubuntus (32 Bit, 64 Bit, LTS, non-LTS). This bug bugs us for so many years because we have two computers (exchanged every couple of years with fresh Ubuntu installations) that each has multiple login accounts (for all family members). Every once in a while one user wants to login while another is already logged in. The login screen allowws to login while another user is logged in, so this should basically work. Other scenario is, the the logged in user simple loggs in to another user via the system menu (top right). The results are miscellanious: sometimes it works, sometimes, the graphics get distorted, sometimes, the screen just turns black (sometimes with a white cursopr line blinking), sometimes it freezes, sometimes it crashes. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1368411] Re: Cannot insert IPV6 rule before IPV4 rules
** Changed in: ufw (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: ufw (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ufw in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1368411 Title: Cannot insert IPV6 rule before IPV4 rules Status in ufw package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I am unable to insert any rules concerning IPV6 before IPV4 rules. Thus, when IPV4 rules are numbered 1 to 5 and IPV6 rules are numbered 6 to 10, the following command: [code] ufw insert 1 deny from 2a02:2210:12:a:b820:fff:fea2:25d1 [/code] errors with "ERROR: Invalid position '1'". However, the command [code] ufw insert 6 deny from 2a02:2210:12:a:b820:fff:fea2:25d1 [/code] succeeds. In my case, this poses a problem, since I am trying to insert rules from a script against brute force attacks. The script needs to insert blocking rules before a number of other rules that open up some ports (since the order of rules is important in ufw). However since the number of IPV4 rules will be changing all the time, the position of the first available number for an IPV6 address is hard to determine. Proposed solution: either allow IPV6 rules to precede IPV4 rules, or implement a keyword defining the first available position; e.g. "ufw insert first deny from 2a02:2210:12:a:b820:fff:fea2:25d1". [Touch-packages] [Bug 1267680] Re: package gdb-arm-none-eabi (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/man/man1/gdb.1.gz', which is also in package gdb 7.6.50.20131218
> Did it build the older version of gdb before you applied your patch? I didn't, but I believe it would have gotten much the same result. Looking at the publishing history, I found version "6" as an example: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdb-arm-none-eabi/6. So, when I look at what binary packages it produced, they are actually called "gdb- arm-none-eabi 7.8-0ubuntu1+6" (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/wily/+package/gdb-arm-none-eabi). Like I mentioned above, I believe this package picks up the first part of the version number from the gdb package when building. It is unfortunately not clear to me exactly how this happens. Furthermore, I'm somewhat worried that in doing so, my tiny little patch has actually pulled in a ton of other changes when it actually built and the version number was tweaked. >It looks like the version in the new changelog entry should probably be `2` instead of having an ubuntu prefix, since the prefix is already built into the version number. Well, the extra "ubuntu" wasn't there when I wrote it. :P In more seriousness, I'm quite sure what the appropriate version number here is. Appending ubuntuX is customary when adding a patch in Ubuntu, though I also considered .1 (I'll explain that one more below). I can't really use 2, because that version exists upstream. If you look at the changelog at http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/gdb-arm- none-eabi.git/log/, one of the lines is tagged debian/1. Above it is two (or three, if you include the changelog entry) commits, which are then tagged as debian/2. This means that version 2 exists and it contains of those two patches since version 1. Since I've only taken one of the patches I can't call it version 2 without being confusing and probably misleading since people would also expect the other patch to be present if they read this changelog. So in reality, it's simply version 1 "plus some extra stuff", which is why I also considered version 1.1 to indicate it has slightly more than version 1, but it isn't a straight import of a newer version. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to gdb in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1267680 Title: package gdb-arm-none-eabi (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/man/man1/gdb.1.gz', which is also in package gdb 7.6.50.20131218-0ubuntu1 Status in gdb package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in gdb-arm-none-eabi package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Was makin sure every thing worked and install properly for ya peeps from Synaptic Package Manager and found a few errors in the process got 2 uploaded along with this report also uploaded info to the "error tracker" which is named: 077cac62-1be5-11e3-88e6-e4115b0f8a4a which is what i also got while installing hope this helps ya =) peace SRU [Impact] Currently it is not possible to install this package alongside gdb. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1270257] Re: NetworkManager failed to function after suspend and resume

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1475937] [NEW] No phone icon
Public bug reported: In the contacts app, when you select a contact, there is an icon next to each phone number, which if pressed will open a new message to that number. Similarly there should be a phone button next to each number, which should immediately start a call. At present you have to press on the number, which then opens the dialer, and then you have to click on call (and depending on settings on dual SIM phones, also select the number to call from). This makes calling a contact long winded. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1449778] Re: [dialer-app] + [messaging-app] remove pop up asking to select a SIM
I don't think any SIM should be selected by default unless the user has set it to be the default. One improvement would be rather than a "No SIM card selected" popup, it should offer you the choice, eg: a popup with two buttons, one to use SIM 1 and another to use SIM 2. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to messaging-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1449778 Title: [dialer-app] + [messaging-app] remove pop up asking to select a SIM Status in Ubuntu UX: In Progress Status in dialer-app package in Ubuntu: New Status in messaging-app package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: krillin vivid and RTM Current behaviour: If the device has both SIM slots occupied, users are asked on action to select a SIM card for either placing a phone call or sending a text message. This can be very annoying for users because on first time launch there is a different pop up asking a similar question and explaining to users where to amend their default SIM for outgoing communication. --UX comment-- The desired solution is to change the text of the popup on first time launch and remove the popup on action. A 3rd popup appears on the dialer app after user made a phone call and didn't select a default SIM. This should be removed as well. The SIM card in the first SIM slot should be selected by default and the first popup will inform users where to alter the selection and change the default SIM for outgoing communication. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1475942] [NEW] Unity Notifcation Daemon does not support buttons
Public bug reported: Desktop Unity Notification Daemon does not support buttons, not like almost other desktops (see attachment). The possibility to add buttons for the developer of software would be really helpful. E.g. Roger (http://en.tabos.org/home) a tool for the VOIP/SIP-Router Fritzbox shows incoming calls and the notification gives you the options to Accept, Decline, Cancel or Ok the call.
