I tested the output of "runlevel" and the env under Debian sid with
sysvinit-core:
- In an rcS script: runlevel says "unknown" (env has RUNLEVEL=S and
PREVLEVEL=N)
- In an rc[2345] script: runlevel says "N 2" (env has RUNLEVEL=2 and
PREVLEVEL=N)
With systemd, runlevel says "unknown" until fin

Sound is outputted through HDMI. Upon suspend/resume or resume from
screen blank, output switches to analog and HDMI is not an available
option from the GUI although still listed using "aplay-l". Sound returns
after resetting HDMI as default using the following command: pacmd

obvious... but this is something of a middle ground where it's being
used in tablet mode. The screen is large enough to switch into the
tabbed mode, but it's still using a touch interface on a small screen...

I know it's a long time, but I'm cleaning up old NTP bugs atm.
I checked and for any recent release I could verify that the setting is
persistent and also the time is checked.
Note: the function is documented as only updating time once on login of your
user anyway, it is not meant to retain a goo
Also note that Mir supporting the Nvidia binary driver won't solve this.
Ubuntu setup and live images need to work, and they won't have the
Nvidia binary driver.
