Well, if the drivers were being updated automatically with a system
update they weren't for me.
The engineer didn't explain exactly what he did, sorry.
The repair wasn't expensive, so maybe you should get an engineer to look
at?

I went off on holiday and hoped the bug got fixed in the meantime but

The problem still exists under Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic Beaver). Tested with
Evince and Okular.
