This is easiest to see on slow connections as the change happens early in the loading process. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1286552] Re: No wifi after suspend
I see it on a laptop that does not connect automatically to the wireless network after wakeup. But I have the same issue also with a desktop with wired ethernet. So a more appropriate title would be 'network manager fails to reconnect after resume', because the issue is not wifi specific. After a suspend/resume cycle, network manager does not reconnect. For the desktop, given that this used to be a machine going to sleep when unused and being waken from the lan, the issue is pretty bad. The machine wakes... but with no network. Network manager stays there for ever, with the connection ready and selected for automatic connection, but does not even try to start the connection. Since it completely breaks the usability of wol, please rise priority. This is something recent. I have also started to see it about November. Furthermore, it used to work just fine with 14.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1286552 Title: No wifi after suspend Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After suspending ubuntu the wifi doesn't work. Further details in Debian e-mail: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-kde- talk/2014-March/001889.html For Ubuntu, transitional packages should be put in place for smooth distribution upgrades, since we're shipping with the old names in previous Ubuntus. An example of that is at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kubuntu-packagers/kubuntu-packaging/qtsystems-opensource-src/revision/31 - in other words: - Make the old package a transitional oldlibs package that depends on the new package - Add Breaks/Replaces to the new package for the old non-transitional packages (be careful about the version number specification) - Keep Multi-Arch: same and Architecture: any for the transitional package - Write QML module instead of QML plugin - Rename also the *.install files --- One more example on naming: For example, the test (qtdeclarative5-test-plugin) in the old qtdeclarative5-style package naming became qttest (qml-module- qttest) in the new naming since the path is actually under /usr/lib/*/qt5/qml/QtTest/ qml-module-qtquick-xmllistmodel has path /usr/lib/*/qt5/qml/QtQuick/XmlListModel, as an example if you have more than one subdir. /usr/lib/*/qt5/qml/Ubuntu/Connectivity/ would be qml-module-ubuntu-connectivity. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1414039] Re: App logging should be off by default
I think that the log files provide important information about context for crash reports. While users aren't using the log files, the fact that they can be attached is an important support feature for applications (and services) deployed in production. I think that we can shorten the amount of time we keep them. For instance, we could delete the log file for an application when the application exits. It should have either been grabbed by apport and handle by that time regardless. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to upstart-app-launch in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1414039 Title: App logging should be off by default Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products: New Status in ubuntu-system-settings package in Ubuntu: New Status in upstart-app-launch package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: We are creating 100s of MBs in log files which are generally unused on production systems Propose to turn app logging off by default and add an option under developer mode to enable it along with additional logging levels like debug. With UT, my voice gets distorted to an extent that person at the other end have real difficulties to hear what I am saying, while with Android call quality is much better with no distortion. unity8 has a big log file, because qtmir has all debug logging info turned on by default. [Touch-packages] [Bug 718693] Re: Can't type EURO symbol with AltGr+E using main lithuanian (lt) keymap
Vytautas, could you test if Euro symbol still doesn't exist in main Lithuanian keyboard layout on Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04 LTS? I've just tested on 14.04.1 with Gnome Flashback and I can type € when presas AltGr + E But I found related problem Ubuntu installer (Ubiquity) or Unity DE - when I select Lithuanian keyboard during installation, then I get 3 keyboard layouts in Unity Lithuanian (LT), Lithuanian with US Layout as default (LT+US, has Euro symbol) and US layout without Euro symbol. Euro is Lithuanian currency since 2015 January, so, we don't need US Layout without Euro symbol, it's enought to have 2 layouts for Lituanians - LT and LT+US -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/718693 Title: Can't type EURO symbol with AltGr+E using main lithuanian (lt) keymap Status in xkeyboard-config package in Ubuntu: New Status in Baltix GNU/Linux: New Bug description: Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config Main lithuanian layout has no EURO symbol. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1413927] Re: login name=systemd cgroup is not owned by user
Might be worth checking that the same is done for all controllers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1413927 Title: login name=systemd cgroup is not owned by user Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When a user logs in, systemd-logind should create cgroups for the user, with the directory (i.e. /user.slice/user-1000.slice/session-c2.scope) and the tasks and cgroup.procs files (but no othes) owned by the user. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1414142] [NEW] Continuous skipping of audio track after reconnecting bluetooth to Car
Public bug reported: In my car I am seeing a very weird issue with bluetooth playback. After connecting with car bluetooth the second time, the audio playback from my phone in the car speakers starts to skip. I am sure not everyone will be able to reproduce this bug with the below steps but still I should mentions them. 1. Connect mobile bluetooth to the car and play a track Verify: it plays the track fine. 2. Disconnect the bluetooth from the phone and make sure it actually gets disconnected from the car. 3. Re-enable bluetooth and connect to the car. Now when I play the sound track it keeps skipping and I can't really hear much of the song. I have attached hcidump, syslog and 'hcitool lq'. ** Affects: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: syslog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1414142/+attachment/4304491/+files/syslog -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1414142 Title: Continuous skipping of audio track after reconnecting bluetooth to Car Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In my car I am seeing a very weird issue with bluetooth playback. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1413922] Re: lxc unprivileged containers broken

On a related note, it seems that the dep8 tests I originally wrote for lxc [1] have been replaced to call lxc's own test suite. As a further note, the script by aztecjoe works around the issue just fine. I mostly have bluetooth, GPS (which isn't always working), wifi and cellular on, but that's no difference from when I was running 'devel- proposed' with MultiROM with much less battery consumption. As an example, I started with a full charge at 7am. After some web surfing (15 mins) and watching a couple of youtube videos (on wifi) battery was down to 66% at 9:15. That's 34% in just over two hours! Debian, and Ubuntu, rely upon signed repository files with cryptographic hashes of packages to provide both integrity and authenticity checks for the packages hosted on that repository. The click framework and the unity-scope-click discovery and installation tool do not use signed repository files, nor do they have signatures of any sort on downloaded packages. The only integrity and authenticity checks are provided by the use of HTTPS. The click verify command will check files within the archive against MD5sums stored inside the archive but the click verify command is not used during package installation. (This is suitable for validating integrity against accidental changes only.) While it appears that unity-scope-click properly uses HTTPS to download package metadata and packages, HTTPS alone is insufficient for our needs: - Someone in a position to create new certificates at any of several hundred certificate authorities could create certificates purporting to be our update servers. This actual problem has been discovered in the wild with several certificate authorities issuing wild-card certificates or even certificates with signing authority. - X.509 is extremely complicated; TLS is extremely complicated. Flaws in both are inevitable. - HTTPS prevents the use of caching. - HTTPS only 'works' for data-in-motion; it is useless for data-at- rest integrity and authenticity checks. I have not yet reviewed the tools that application authors will use to upload their packages to our distribution servers but note in passing that most of these issues are also issues for adding packages to our update servers -- packages in flight within our network can be corrupted for many reasons, packages on disk can be corrupted for many reasons. A signature mechanism can protect against internal network faults, storage faults, and provide assurance months or years later that an uploaded package was uploaded by someone in control of a corresponding private key. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1414230] [NEW] v14.04 screen garbled upon restart with external monitor
Public bug reported: I have installed Ubuntu 14.04 on a Acer Aspire One 722. Everything works fine on the laptop by itself. But if I connect the laptop to an external monitor (a HDTV in this instance) via a HDMI cable, the display on the laptop screen and on the external monitor work fine: 1) until I close the screen of the laptop while the laptp is still on, let it go to sleep, and then open the screen and restart. At that point the laptop and external montor screens are black with some garbled characters. There is no way to recover the laptop but shut it down and perform a cold boot. 2) and continue to do so if I use the suspend command (from the drop down menu from the top right corner of the screen). The laptop and the external monitor go dark when the computer suspends. Upon waking both the laptop screen and the external monitor work fine. Needless to say closing the lid after using the suspend command makes no difference. Any clues on what could be happening when I close the lid of the laptop to suspend the laptop? ** Tags added: vivid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-meta in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377370 Title: ubuntu-desktop should depend on ibus-gtk Status in ubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Note that ubuntu-desktop depends on ibus-gtk3 already. Looking at /usr/share/im-config/data/21-ibus.rc GTK_IM_MODULE is only set to ibus if both gtk-2.0 and gtk-3.0 ibus modules are present. Otherwise it's set to xim. If GTK_IM_MODULE=xim and ibus is running, then various bugs happen like LP: #1374721 and LP: #1375742. Installing ibus-gtk makes those problems go away.
