First of all this IS NOT A DUPLICATE OF BUG #1554613.
This is an entirely different problem which is quite consistent in its
behaviour when it fails. As the original creator of this bug reported,

resume from suspend no IPv4 address is assigned to the network
interfaces (both wired and wireless). Seems to be not related to
hardware or driver but to NetworkManager.
Maybe this (known) problem is corrected in version

responsibility of the installer. Reassigning to systemd for now because

There's no way to "push to the left edge" inside a VM window really (and
moving my mouse to the edge doesn't seem to open it, nor was it showing
the launcher prior to me setting it to always-shown).
Also, relying on mouse gestures is not good for accessibility.

More trouble with that udev script:
Plugging in a USB ethernet dongle into a bridge which lists it as a port
does not work. It takes an additional
ifconfig up
to switch the ethernet interface on.
