[Touch-packages] [Bug 1810574] Re: Audio is low pitched/deeper on AMD GPU

2019-02-17 Thread Daniel van Vugt

at 44.1kHz and another thinking that is 48kHz.

Audio is low pitched/deeper on AMD GPU

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I have a dual screen set up, a Display Port Monitor and a HDMI monitor
on Ubuntu 18.04.1 ALSA driver k4.15.0-43-generic. The display port
monitor has speakers so I used as my main speakers, but, the audio of
any source sounds deeper/slower than it should be. Even videos of any
source last longer. For example, 10 "seconds" of any video in my
computer are 12.5 seconds in my phone stopwatch. I'm using a radeon r9
  280x.

just took update and now does not recognize soundcard or something plugged in
to headphones jack. pulled bug. Now if I unplug headphones and plug back in, it
wakes up and recognizes it and works fine. I thought I had this prob a few days
ago and restored back to the 10th, and updated all but alsa and worked fine.
This morning I checked and a bunch of alsa stuff was no longer showing in
updates, took everything, and worked fine. Just took updates (Software
Updater), and checked speakers and no go. When this happened, it also would not
allow sound to HDTV via HDMI, no matter what. Just tested and was able to get
sound via hdmi, but remember, I have already "woken it up" by unplugging and
plugging headphones (actually sony vaio computer speakers)

19.04dev / Win7 Pro x64 . 8GB(15GB/s), Sammy 250GB SSD. Fast!

I expected sound to recognize soundcard/speakers. It did not until I
  unplug/replug headphones.

Title:
  no sound

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  19.04,kern 4.19.0-13
just took update and now does not recognize soundcard or something plugged in
to headphones jack.
  ThinkPad T530-2394-3J8, i5-3380M 2.9GHz, Dual boot (BIOS/MBR): Grub, Ubuntu
19.04dev / Win7 Pro x64 . 8GB(15GB/s), Sammy 250GB SSD. Fast!

I expected sound to recognize soundcard/speakers. It did not until I
  unplug/replug headphones.

Title:
Ubuntu 18.10's ibus package breaks password fields in Firefox Beta
  (65, 66 via PPA)

Status in ibus package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Essentially
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ibus/+bug/1765304 but
reproducible in Cosmic even with the patched gnome-shell installed via
  APT.

  SYSTEM INFO
  =

  * Ubuntu 18.10 Cosmic with latest updates
  * proc/version_signature: Ubuntu 4.18.0-14.15-generic 4.18.20
  * uname: Linux justin-ubuntu 4.18.0-14-generic #15-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jan 14

  * ibus 1.5.19-1ubuntu1
  * Both Firefox 65 and 66 (66.0~b4+build1-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 per official PPA)

  STEPS TO REPRODUCE
  =

  1. Ensure keyboard input method system is
  1. Download Firefox Beta channel via their official PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/ubuntu/firefox-next
  2. Download and install the 1Password X firefox extentsion:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1password-x-password-manager/
  3. Open the extension window by either pressing the shortcut Ctrl+. or
clicking the 1Password icon in the Firefox UI
  4. Enter in the password in the input and press enter.

Expected: The vault unlocks or displays a "this is a wrong password"

Actual: The UI appears to "refresh" and nothing occurs.

  WORKAROUND/VALIDATION
  =

Like the original bug, switching the keyboard input method to XIM from
iBus resolves the issue suggesting to me that the symptoms I am
experiencing are caused by the root issue previously filed, fixed, and
  deployed.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1816301] Re: problème logiciel détecté

2019-02-17 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

Keith,

That may be a different bug, or maybe not...

Please try removing/disabling your monitor's colour profile in system
settings.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1015819] Re: sb_sasl_generic_pkt_length: received illegal packet length when using Active Directory and ldapsearch and sasl with ssl or tls

2019-02-17 Thread Andrey Arapov
Thank you, Johnny Westerlund!
At least adding "sasl_secprops minssf=0,maxssf=0" to /etc/openldap/ldap.conf
works around the error, so things seem to work for me.

Not sure whether it is different now for Michael Osipov.

2019-02-17 Thread Andrey Arapov
Exact same error here in 2019.
I set Windows Server 2019 up, default AD DS & AD CS (for TLS).

Clients tried:
Ubuntu 18.04: libsasl2-modules-gssapi-mit:amd64
2.1.27~101-g0780600+dfsg-3ubuntu2
Alpine Edge: cyrus-sasl-gssapiv2-2.1.27-r1

Have anyone tried asking in Cyrus SASL mailing list?

just took update and now does not recognize soundcard or something plugged in
to headphones jack.
  ThinkPad T530-2394-3J8, i5-3380M 2.9GHz, Dual boot (BIOS/MBR): Grub, Ubuntu
19.04dev / Win7 Pro x64 . 8GB(15GB/s), Sammy 250GB SSD. Fast!

I expected sound to recognize soundcard/speakers. It did not until I
  unplug/replug headphones.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1816271] Re: no sound

2019-02-17 Thread Kris M
another user's comments:
 Re: Broken output sound

Your screenshots are the same as mines when i've got that issue.
How it had happened on my system:
- a couple days ago, made the usual daily upgrades from 'proposed',
including gvfs, pulseaudio, alsa and the likes. Sound was working before and
after the upgrades.
- with the next cold boot, i first upgrade some other releases (bionic,
cosmic, bulleyes), the sound was was ok on each ones.
- next cold boot on Disco, kernel 13, and that sound issue appeared; i've
closed and reopened the session, but that did not solved the problem.
- rebooting with the kernel 12 and there the sound was ok; in fact i should
say that the system had found and well identified the mobo sound chipset.
- since, i have made many cold boots and sound is now always working.

So it looks like the upgrade process has disturbed, at boot time,
the sound chipset discovery; is it the gcc8/9 switch to blame ?

  no sound

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  19.04,kern 4.19.0-13
just took update and now does not recognize soundcard or something plugged in
to headphones jack.
  ThinkPad T530-2394-3J8, i5-3380M 2.9GHz, Dual boot (BIOS/MBR): Grub, Ubuntu
19.04dev / Win7 Pro x64 . 8GB(15GB/s), Sammy 250GB SSD. Fast!

I expected sound to recognize soundcard/speakers. It did not until I
  unplug/replug headphones.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1816302] Re: problème logiciel détecté

2019-02-17 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1787729] Re: apport-autoreport.service fails if whoopsie isn't running

apport-autoreport.service fails if whoopsie isn't running

Status in apport package in Ubuntu:

Status in apport source package in Bionic:

Status in apport source package in Cosmic:

Bug description:
  Impact
  --
If automatic crash reporting is enabled and apport-autoreport.service starts
before whoopsie on boot then crash reports that happened during shutdown or
start up will not be automatically uploaded to the error tracker.

  Test Case
  -
  1) install apport-noui
  2) sudo service apport stop
  3) modify /usr/share/apport/whoopsie-upload-all to exit(1) thereby recreating
the situation where whoopsie isn't running. I did this by copying lines 159,160
to 161,162 and unindenting them. N.B. this isn't necessary if you are on a
system where whoopsie is starting after apport.
  4) touch /var/crash/my.crash
  5) reboot
  5) run 'systemctl status apport-autoreport.service' and observe it failed
because whoopsie isn't running

When testing the proposed version of apport you'll want to revert the
changes you made to whoopsie-upload-all. With the version of apport
from -proposed you should no longer see the failure message for the
apport-autoreport.service. The best test case is just having an
affected system test the package from -proposed though.

  Regression Potential

We are clearly fixing something that was a mistake in the original service so
there is little chance for regression.

just took update and now does not recognize soundcard or something plugged in
to headphones jack.

I expected sound to recognize soundcard/speakers. It did not until I
  unplug/replug headphones.

I still don't get fractional scaling on the single laptop screen (100,
  200 etc only).

When an external monitor is plugged in I do then get fractional
  scaling and it works well.

This needs to be available on a single monitor as well.

Status in glib2.0 package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I'm mounting folders from my NAS on my computer (Ubuntu 18.04) with
cifs. Copying an 8 GB file...

  Upload (local -> mounted)
  - Nautilus/Nemo -> 6 MB/s
  - rsync -> 50-60 MB/s

Download performance is also strange, but not my biggest concern.
  Download (mounted -> local)
  - Nautilus/Nemo -> 90 MB/s
  - rsync -> 50-60 MB/s

  rsync command (upload):
  rsync --progress /home/me/file.iso /mnt/cifs_media/

  fstab entry:
  //nas/media /mnt/cifs_media cifs
vers=3.0,uid=me,gid=me,credentials=/home/me/.smbcredentials,dir_mode=0700,file_mode=0700

Any idea, why Nautilus is uploading up to 10 times more slowly than
rsync, although both using the same cifs, os, hardware, network etc.?

PS: Further info for bug report
  1) The release of Ubuntu: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
  2) The version of the package: Nautilus 3.26.3
  3) What you expected to happen: At least same speed as with using rsync
  4) What happened instead: See above
