Unforntunately even with installing the release candidate rc4 and rc5 of kernel5.17, the sound does not work. When going to sound settings it does not list anything as output devices. I am using ubuntu 21.0 actually. Any idea? I also had plenty of issues setting the bluetooth connections to my keyboard, gnome-shell is consuming CPU like crazy etc - so seems like some kind of outside force is trying to keep this PC and ubuntu as far as possible :D -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958019 Title: [Lenovo Legion7 16ACHg6 82N6, Realtek ALC287, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all Status in sound-2.6 (alsa-kernel): Confirmed Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: On my Lenovo Legion-7-16ACHg6 laptop I can't hear any sound by internal speakers, but it work by headphones connected to standard jack aux. uname -r 5.11.0-44-generic ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: alsa-base 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.11.0-44.48~20.04.2-generic 5.11.22 Uname: Linux 5.11.0-44-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.21 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC2: i3draven 1266 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: i3draven 1266 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: i3draven 1266 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/pcmC1D0p: i3draven 1266 F...m pulseaudio CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sat Jan 15 15:10:53 2022 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-10-11 (96 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20210819) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: alsa-driver Symptom: audio Symptom_AlsaPlaybackTest: ALSA playback test through plughw:Generic failed Symptom_Card: Family 17h (Models 10h-1fh) HD Audio Controller - HD-Audio Generic Symptom_DevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC2: i3draven 1266 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: i3draven 1266 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: i3draven 1266 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/pcmC1D0p: i3draven 1266 F...m pulseaudio Symptom_Jack: Speaker, Internal Symptom_Type: No sound at all Title: [82N6, Realtek ALC287, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 11/08/2021

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1958720] Re: python3-yaml and python3-six are not co-installable with python-is-python2 in jammy
@mhodson: why did you remove six from this ticket? The affect I described is very much present for python3-six. readding six task @racb: thank you for having a thorough look. you are spot on in #10, the problem is present only focal2jammy, not impish2jammy. Thus, one possibility to deal with this situation is instead of completely dropping the breaks is to erlax them to exclude the python version from focal. Let me know if this is preferrable and I'll happily provide a debdiff. ** Also affects: six (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to six in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958720 Title: python3-yaml and python3-six are not co-installable with python-is- python2 in jammy Status in pyyaml package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in six package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: The packages python3-yaml and python-is-python2 are not co-installable in jammy and I believe they should be. This currently prevents me from upgrading one of my machines from focal to jammy. Further analysis with the help of Stefano Rivera revealed that what- is-python no longer produces a python-is-python2 package and the changelog hints at that being intentional. Jammy still has a python2 package, though. python3-yaml in jammy breaks on python (<2.7.18). The python-is- python2 package in focal is version 2.7.17-4 and in impish it is 2.7.18-9 and thus will be forcefully removed when going to jammy. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1832031] Re: No sound on external Samsung Monitor via Display Port/HDMI
This also affects me but on ubuntu 20.04. Some how the HDMI output switches randomly. For example sometimes i have HDMI-audio when i switch the output to 5.1, sometimes i have to use stereo and somedays i need to switch to 7.1. I own a xps 13 9380 which came preinstalled with ubuntu 18.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1832031 Title: No sound on external Samsung Monitor via Display Port/HDMI Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hello, I have two external monitor connected via a Dell TB16 (thunderbolt). One is a Samsung T28C570 and the other one is a Samsung CF791. The first one is connected via HDMI. The second one is connected via Display Port. The problem is that sound on Samsung CF791 doesn't work. I know it's not a mixer problem because: 1) Sometime, If i press CTRL+ALT+F2 (to enter in console mode) and then go back on Desktop with CTRL+ALT+F1 i can heard sound from the monitor when I increase or decrease volume, even if a little bit distorted. Nevertheless, if I try to play a video (for example youtube), sound stops to work. I have to stop any audio stream, return to console mode and back again in desktop to hear again distorted sound then increase volume. 2) On Windows, I have no problem (so it seems not to be an hardware issue). I have to stop any audio stream, return to console mode and back again in desktop to hear again distorted sound then increase volume. 2) On Windows, I have no problem (so it seems not to be an hardware issue). I tried to connect the CF791 via HDMI, but problem persist. I have no problem with the other monitor. I have checked every alsamixer e pavucontrol settings unsuccessful. My laptop is a Dell XPS 13.
