If I boot into recovery mode then click normal boot the desktop appears, every time. Kernel 5.17.5-051705-generic If I just do a normal boot the desktop appears maybe 1 in out of every 20 reboots, same kernel. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1971232] [NEW] [Dell XPS 8940] [ALC3861] No audio from headset mic when plugged into front panel jack, works under Windows
Public bug reported: There is no audio coming from the headset mic when plugged into the front panel headset jack (bog standard wired headphones with mic, Sony MDR-EX15AP). Upon plugging in Gnome should offer a choice of "Headset" amongst others, but the only ones available are "Headphones" and "Microphone", neither of which enables the mic on the headset. The same headset works under Windows, so it shouldn't be an issue of mismatching TRRS. I'm happy to provide any further details if needed. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1971146] Re: [radeon] Pictures including wallpaper not showing
Ubuntu has been working fine for years. I'm now using kernel 5.17.5-051705-generic and it works, but only sometimes. If I reboot the problem will return. It's working properly now, is there a command or log file I can generate to see if anything is different? On 03/05/2022 05:07, Daniel van Vugt wrote: > Presumably Ubuntu worked before the upgrade. [Expired for nss (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: nss (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to nss in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960736 Title: Libnss3 doesn't log SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_PKCS11_ERROR properly ( NSS error code: -8018 ) Status in nss package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: I've got the issue with Google Chrome not recognizing any of SSL/TSL certificates as trusted. When I look into certificate checksums it's renders all bytes of it as NULL bytes. I'm aware Google Chrome is proprietary but it depends on ubuntu provided libnss3-package. And libnss provides very nigmatic error code -8018: `/opt/google/chrome$ google-chrome [23391:23426:0213/133531.202486:ERROR:nss_util.cc(286)] After loading Root Certs, loaded==false: NSS error code: -8018 [23434:23434:0213/133531.266711:ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(377)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process. So my suggestion with this bug is to make it more transparent by providing information to what happened - it seems other bug codes has better error messages. To get SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_PKCS11_ERROR string I was force to download source code and manually calculate offsets. Another issue is if failing to initialize PKCS11 token should make whole SSL/TLS crypto invalid ? I'm not sure if this is libnss or Google Chrome issue but it behaves differently in Chromium browser with same libnss so I assume either of two is doing better - it's worth to review this from security perspective. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1971189] Re: External monitor display pink coloration in grayscale (HDMI)
This sounds like bug 1970031. Please try: Settings > Colour > YOUR MONITOR = OFF ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: gamma -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971189 Title: External monitor display pink coloration in grayscale (HDMI) Status in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Two days ago I upgraded to 22.04 LTS. My laptop display works fine but my external monitor(HDMI port) has strong pink coloration in grey scale / white areas of display. I put up a picture of a NTSC colorbars. On the laptop display it is correct. When I slide it to the external monitor it has distinct pink color in the 70% grey scale bar.The white bar is correct as are the cyan, blue , yellow, red, etc. The pluge (program lineup guide) black bars display correctly, thus no contrast problem. The only visible problem is the pink in the 70% bars. I suspected the monitor might be at fault, but I rebooted into my Windblows 11 (dual boot) both displays were again correct, as they had been in Ubuntu until the Upgrade to 22.04. That is the extent of by ability to analyze the problem. I suspect something in the HDMI but have no way to check further. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1971149] Re: Wayland session: Internal display is black after sleep
Thanks for the bug report. The kernel log in CurrentDmesg.txt suggests the i915 graphics driver is having trouble resuming from sleep. We would like to see the whole log so please run this command after resuming: journalctl -b0 > journal.txt and attach the resulting text file here. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => mutter (Ubuntu) ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971149 Title: Wayland session: Internal display is black after sleep Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have a laptop with Intel 630 and NVIDIA 1050 Ti, I have connected an external display via HDMI. When my laptop sleeps after I re-login the internal display (connected to Intel 630 AFAIK) is black. It appears enabled in the settings and if I change it to be the primary it lights up. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1969959] Re: [nouveau] Weird colors after startup (Ubuntu 22.04)
dont forget i reported this in the main #ubuntu and #ubuntu-next way before the actual final release came out. i think i reported it for the first time around 03-28-2022. my nick is en11gma i reported it at least 4 more times. #ubuntu would just tell me dont talk about 22.04 yet because its not supported offiically yet and goto #ubuntu-next (which i did) and i reported it over and over. the mods there just wanted to be bullies and go after me because i didnt create a fix it ticket. i wasnt sure if it was just something i messed up so i didnt want to report it as i was trying to get another person to reproduce it at least. no one would help. i knew with the final release coming this was going to come out this way but i did try. now many users wanting to experience 22.04 dont get too. bummers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969959 Title: [nouveau] Weird colors after startup (Ubuntu 22.04) Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in mesa package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I started Ubuntu 22.04 from a live pen drive. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1735979] Re: installing ubuntu-desktop package on ubuntu-server breaks wlan-config in netplan
Yes, this is actually the expected behavior. If netplan is configured to use the systemd-networkd backend for a given network interface (i.e. as set up by a default server installation) the "graphical UI" (NetworkManager) will ignore that interface; otherwise there would be conflicts As you mentioned this can be changed by adopting the netplan configuration in /etc/netplan/*.yaml, defining the NetworkManager renderer, after which the interface will be handled by NM and can be controlled through the "graphical UI" and other NetworkManager tools, like "nmcli". I don't think the user's configuration should be overwritten by installing a meta-package like "ubuntu-desktop". ** Changed in: nplan (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1735979 Title: installing ubuntu-desktop package on ubuntu-server breaks wlan-config in netplan Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in nplan package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Installing Ubuntu 17.10 server uses netplan for wlan-configuration, if the wlan-device is the primary device. Im not sure, where is the best place to repair this issue. - using network-manager also in server environment - replacing netplan-file while installing ubuntu-desktop - adding some extra config in netplan-directory, so the network-manager support is additive (is this possible?) - remove the netplan-config while installing ubuntu-desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1735979/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
