So the answer is it depends on how they are using unprivileged user
namespaces and how they react to them being denied, not every
application needs to patched separately.
Generally speaking gnome has been better tested than KDE had because
gnome being the Ubuntu default saw a lot more opt in
piuparts tests (install/upgrade/purge)

Maybe it's just me, but could we please clarify in the test plan exactly
what flag changes are we expecting? Given the change is to honor or not
the "OPT" flags, I was expecting an additional test plan that would set
those, and then show that they are included when the workaround var is

The only curious thing with using "pkcs11.txt" is that is usually used
with the security databases. Per some of the manpages:
