[Touch-packages] [Bug 1893151] [NEW] Tearing graphics sometimes on Nvidia card

2020-08-26 Thread NoBugs!
Public bug reported:

I installed Xorg-hwe, kernel hwe and even installed the newer
nvidia-384, nvidia-dkms-390, I still sometimes see large triangle
tearing for split second on screen change. Especially on Impress full
screen presentation, changing Firefox pages etc.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1059872] Re: Error formatting disk using disk utility

2017-07-19 Thread NoBugs!
How is this broken after at least two years? Or is it meant to scare
beginner users that may have chosen the wrong setting, choosing "format"
drive, this is considered to be really a command-line-only task?

  [Impact]

Formatting a SD card using the disk utility fails with an error
  message

"Error formatting disk - Error synchronizing after initial wipe: Timed
out waiting for object (udisks-error-quark, 0)"

The underlying problem is that the "wipefs" tool from util-linux does
  not work any more.

You can work around this bug in gnome-disk-utility using these steps:

  * After selecting the SD card, instead of clicking the gear icon to format,
click the partition in the "Volumes" section.

  * Delete the partition ("minus" icon)

  * Create a new partition

  [Test Case]

  $ sudo modprobe scsi_debug dev_size_mb=200
  # this creates a new /dev/sdX, usually /dev/sdb; check dmesg!

  # now create a partition table
  $ cat

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1673645] Re: A bunch of text goes missing sporadically.

2017-07-15 Thread NoBugs!
May or may not be the same as the icons disappearing bug that happens in 4.4. I
updated again hoping that it would be fixed but it isn't!!
https://askubuntu.com/questions/582980/missing-letters-in-menus-and-folder-names/606583#comment1399040_606583

Seems it never happens on 4.2 so it is likely the Linux version issue.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1369651] Re: "libmtp error: Could not send object info" when copying content to root MTP folder

2016-05-15 Thread NoBugs!
It's actually happening when you copy to non-root-directory, unless
Samsung Android/Phone/Music/ is considered root folder.

Keeps freezing or just does nothing - maybe it's caused by dashes or _
in the folder or file name? Going too slow or just crashing, when
connected to Android 5.1.1 device. Maybe it's just that version?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1485269] [NEW] Display settings window disappears

2015-08-15 Thread NoBugs!
Public bug reported:

When I go to the display settings on external monitor, and switch the
external and laptop screens' position and apply, the whole display-
screens window disappears. Shortly after, it reverts back since I
couldn't click keep-these-settings.

I think this is caused by going to the external monitor(not laptop) to
open the screen settings initially.

Title:
  Display settings window disappears

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When I go to the display settings on external monitor, and switch the
external and laptop screens' position and apply, the whole display-
screens window disappears. Shortly after, it reverts back since I
  couldn't click keep-these-settings.

I think this is caused by going to the external monitor(not laptop) to
  open the screen settings initially.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1366642] Re: Resume laptop sometimes shows no lock screen, sometimes lock screen with no text input.

2014-09-24 Thread NoBugs!
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1311316 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311316

Fixed a week ago? I don't think so, I'm still seeing the case where
sometimes it comes up with lock screen, sometimes it doesn't have a lock
screen, and just lets you work. So, I don't think this is just a
duplicate of that other bug.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1358595] [NEW] Unity and desktop effects are extremely slow, some windows don't show on Alt+Tab-ing.

2014-08-18 Thread NoBugs!
Public bug reported:

I noticed that operations like switching windows were taking an
extremely long time, and opacity fade in is taking 10s to a minute or
more. I quit Netbeans and Firefox, though they didn't seem to be loading
the system down too badly. Still going slow. I also noticed none of the
dropdowns from the Ubuntu status icons in upper right work.

I open Firefox again, and it slowly fades in, and works, but alt-tab
doesn't show it as available - though it is right on the (only) screen.
It seems now any window that is called up takes a loong time to go from
transparent to visible.

About this time I also saw that Nemiver debugger icon jumped up and
wiggled - like it was alerting about process needing to be debugged?

I'm still seeing this problem although no high-cpu processes are
happening. At the same time this started I also noticed that searching
in the dash was breaking - update couldn't even find update manager.
