Thank you for responding. I wonder if it's intended by design.
I used to logout via
`dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.login1

Public bug reported:
I installed Ubuntu 20.04, it is running well. I switched display manager to
lightdm. I noticed that it fails to set environment variables XDG_SEAT,
XDG_VTNR, XDG_SESSION_ID.
I also tested gdm3, it's the same. I also tried liveiso to no vail.
apt-cache policy lightdm
I am still suffering from this bug. I am on Ubuntu 16.04 32 bit platform. I
installed libvirt-qemu and it adds itself to user group as `
libvirt-qemu:x:64055:128:Libvirt Qemu,,,:/var/lib/libvirt:/bin/false`.
Since its user id > 1000 it hangs the lightdm over one minute due to above bug.
How can
I noticed the same bug in my system ( Ubuntu 14.04.5) while I was trying to set
up pulseaudio server in Windows 10 over the local network. In my case network
flooding occurs whenever I launch pavucontrol, upload traffics reaches up to
200kb/s and it reduced the local network unusable. When I
screen shows up. I have three users, I noticed that each user takes 25
seconds timeout to complete the process.

I am running Ubuntu 16.04.04, I am suffering from the same bug. I issued a new
bug here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1773517
I tried the patch at #17 but it's not applicable to new code, I don't know how
to remove accountservice check.
