Cinnamon 3.4.6 on Linux Mint 18.2. You're right, this is a video of the lock screen. I thought both login and lock functionality was provided by the display manager. Since you mention my lock screen is provided by the shell, would it be better to file this bug with the Cinnamon project instead?
