Thanks Stephen Spencer again.
Exactly same situation with Gandi.net provider. Issue could be diagnosed
thanks to Stephen explanation. And the solution was as simple as
switching kernel from 2.6.32-x86_64 to 3.10-x86_64 in gandi.net
administrative pages (in disk properties).

perhaps an strace might help...the group I want to have as primary group
is called DummyGroup here and is part of an active directory
infrastructure. In 12.04 everything worked and I was able to change to

I used uck and manual live cd customization with chroot. I remastered a 14.04
xubuntu livecd.
Done a successfull apt-get dist-upgrade in chroot using workarounds from Bug
#1325142 and Bug #1211933.
But the cd won't boot due to initramfs initrd.img-3.13.0-34-generic
To make it more clearly, I have attached another logfile. This new one
is from Ubuntu 12.04 in the same environment as above.
If you diff it with the stracenewgrp.log you can see, that in Ubuntu
14.04 the newgrp tries to allocate files associated to the language
settings in /usr/share/locale
It still affects me, it looks like a kernel bug.

Keyboard special keys interfere with mouse
I just wanted to add that I have been experiencing this bug in several
distros, each with their own version of goa. Email works fine, but the
calendar component has issues:
Debian Wheezy (goa 3.4.2): I get a password prompt twice when I log in, but
after that authentication is successful

I discovered this problems as well today.
The first time I went (today) to the server settings to enable sharing, it
worked fine.
After that, I was unable to open it again, always seeing the reported error.
Even after a reboot.
