This is still happening in 2021. My system was stuck running tracker- miner-f with 100% CPU usage and it kept saying 1 second remaining although it was completed. Every few weeks my system goes completely sluggish, almost unusable and it is always tracker-miner-f. I just submitted another bug

To update: Per the Gnome team this is finally fixed in version 2.3.2, https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/tracker/issues/95 I cannot verify as as this version is not avialable for any current version of Ubuntu, including Focal. Please update the tracker version in supported channels. ** Bug watch
