I think the main point is that it would be nice to be able to somehow
type in named HTML entities in a wiki page, and have them unescaped.
It's easier to type lte; than it is to configure an easy to use input
method for arbitrary symbols. I'm not saying it's Trac's job to solve
that problem.

I never see gdb report anything. At some point CPU and MEM utilization gets
so high the server becomes unusable and has to be rebooted.

Not sure why that would ever make sense. Wiki markup isn't HTML and shouldn't
ever be confused with such. How would you render an HTML entity when formatting
a wiki page to text or to a PDF for example?

I am running Trac 0.11.1 and all the tickets that I type as wiki
formating just seems to come out as plain text. How do I change this
behavior? I can't find any thing under Admin, and trac.ini also did
not reveal much information. Thanks.

Well, that's the problem of course. I suppose one could write a macro
that takes an entity name or hex value and pops out the right
character. Or some other such syntax. But using the HTML entity
syntax, while useful, wouldn't make sense and would be confusing.

Inside the macro code, use self.env.name IIRC.
