Hey,
I tried getting a SSL Certificate (self-signed) running with my Trac-
website. This didn't work (for whatever reason) so I removed it. Now
unfortunately my website is down. (The browser just keeps waiting for
a response from the server and finally times out with a server error.)

Hi,
I had successfully installed trac on one of my system where the smtp server

the email notification is NOT working.

Ok, it turns out that Trac is installed in my Python.2.3 site packages
directory, so installing another instance alongside my existing
installation (as indicated at the link you provided) seems to be the
best option. However, since I'm also upgrading Python as part of this
process, it seems to me

So, it's just a # followed by the heading, stripped of all spaces. If
you hover near the end of a heading (in the preview or final page),
the link should be shown by your browser somewhere.
Use the Ref() macro: it generates the anchor name using the same rules
(and code) as the Wiki engine.
Well, a long as you provide no details about your settings and your
environment, there's pretty no matter to help you finding the issue:
It works for us ;-)
Please copy the relevant section of your trac.ini file (namely, the

I would also be interested in a 0.9.3 to 0.10.5 upgrade procedure on an
Ubuntu Platform and a 10.5 to 11.0 on a
SUSE Platform.
Thanks !

Thanks for that tip.
Examining the logs;
- nothing in trac.log (at least, not anything when trying to open the
url after it times out and gives a 500 internal server error)

Carl,
Upgrading from 0.8 to 0.10.4 shouldn't, in theory, cause any problems,
if the software is correctly upgraded. I say go ahead an try it and
report back if you run into any specific problems. Upgrading the Trac
environments themselves is simply a matter of:
trac-admin /path/to/environment
this should be no problem, just add it to the python path at your wish.

for the database it depends what you mean. for the contents/schema
no, as it is slightly different, and starting with 0.11 suggest to
upgrade.

It also depends on what you mean by 'server'. If you mean two
independent 'tracd' processes on a host server then you would be okay,
but try loading two different versions of Trac into mod_python or
embedded mode of mod_wsgi using the one Apache server, then you may
have issues if they for some
Hello,
can anyone please point me to the default location of the trac.ini
file. We had a sysadmin who set it up for us, but he's no longer
around. A few days back trac suddenly stopped sending email and i've
been trying to figure out the reason.
