I think that trac-admin hotcopy command should help you.

Here you can grab a lot of spams and ham mails for training as well as checking
your spam filter.
And most of the mails are real tricky to use.

1) May be you can just remove the anonymous group directly on commnad line
using
trac-admin.
2) Use accountmanager plugin from web interface and remove anonymous user.

My suggestion is to go for wsgi. I am also using Debian and I have successfully
installed and configured trac using wsgi. Althouh it will work with mod_python
but I have no experience with mod_python. Probably some other guy can help you.
