I've installed Trisquel on an older computer. It uses a Compact Wireless-G
USB Adapter. When I tried Ubuntu, it automatically picked up the Adapter,
but it had other issues that made using it on this older machine a bad idea.
Trisquel, looks perfect, but unfortunately for me, doesn't
Usually things should just work. However when they don't it might be because
of needing a newer kernel or because of non-free firmware the adapter might
require.
If you open a terminal window and input
lsusbwhat's the output?
You can try a newer kernel from http://jxself.org/linux-libre/
Given that fonts are software, should I disable websites' ability to use font
embedding, in case they use non-free fonts?
And the Hex quantity should be between which two values? 0 to 64, 0 to FF, 1
to 10?
Anybody?
How does one rename (GUI) all the files in a folder and all the subfolders
from $Name.!ut to $Name.part
How does one move lots of files from one folder to another and IF $Name.$Ext
exists THAN rename $Name_$Number.$Ext?
The key is the boot time parameter idle=halt. The sound seems to be a problem
with coreboot and the motherboard. So, if the faint high pitched noise is not
a problem, than the usage time improves. From 30-35W consumption at the
wallplug, I now get below 20W with the WiFi on and music
Sure, that is the best method for 10 files that don't hold too much data.
When you get over a megabyte of text things are starting to get complicated.
Sure, you can be highly organized. But most of the people aren't.
Could you expand on this notion of binders?
Not based on licence. But you can disable font downloading.
Only on a hard drive partition with a filesystem without journaling.
Otherwise the advice is crap.
That would be sensible, though in practice I think they tend to use
free/libre fonts for this.
This is the output:

bash: Isusb: command not found
grampy@grampy-GC662AA-ABA-SR5113WM:~$ lsusb

Your Wi-Fi stick doesn't appear. Is it connected when you type the command?
Or do you know what model/brand/versio, and so on it is?
I believe version 2 of that adapter should work, but not the other versions.
I'm not completely sure, though.
Make sure the adapter is plugged in when you do lsusb. It doesn't show in the
output you posted.

Will Abrowser remove the ads
Yes. Issue solved. The rest is just speculation. Moving on.
No, 'tis not.
