Don't reply to spam, report it. (But we have no report button...)
Only way I know is down-voting. But it feels like the same tool is used for
too many different things already...
Ok so maybe not everywhere. However, it does seem like spammers have taken a
liking to the forums. Is there a way to report these guys to remove the
spammy topics. I do not see an obvious way to do that.
If there is not a current way to do so, could we implement one before it gets
out of
Thanks! That allowed me to access the 3.4 kernel.
However I am running it right now and still can't get access to native
resolutions. Even though I am running the 3.4 kernel it only gives me 1024
(4:3) as the max resolution.
Maybe I have to remove/install something else, since this system was
Thanks! That worked! And eventually MagicBanana gave me the same answer :)
I am still having problems with the resolution issue, and maybe I need to do

I know sda5 is encrypted.
I am unsure about sda1 though. Maybe it can't be encrypted because it is just
the boot partition?
...? what?
Please, I hope you are a woman... getting kisses from a dude would be weird,
even over the internet :P
And anyway, my girl is jealous! ahahah
Just kidding, thanks for the explanation.

Hi,
I encrypted a USB drive, I stored some files in it, I removed it. Then I
plugged it in and it asked me for the passphrase to unlock it, but the
keyboard does not work in the box where I have to enter the passphrase. It
does work everywhere else.
I can write the passphrase in the text
I found the package libp11-kit-gnome-keyring in Synaptic and it helped. Now i
can access sites i couldn't. But when i enable Javascript on those sites,
they disappear and the message is:
pkcs11:library-manufacturer=GNOME%20Keyring ,
pkcs11:library-description=PKCS%2311%20Kit%20Trust%20Module
But it feels like the same tool is used for too many different things
already...
In my book (if it can handle it), then it's not a bad thing.
It's simpler.
So, what are we going to do about it?
Is this another forum update request that will go to waste?
So far, we probably can agree on :
- That nested posts problem on long threads
- no-JavaScript functioning (if JS enabled, I assume it's code will be
licensed properly). Why? I seems that some
It works without js, though I don't know if it handles mailing lists.
But unfortunately, this is what it runs on :
https://www.invisionpower.com/features/apps#forums
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invision_Power_Board
I never needed to do this but I've read some did.
Try to comment (#) the radeon related entries in these files
/etc/modprobe.d/fbdev-blacklist.conf
/etc/modprobe.d/disable-radeon.conf
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer.conf
then:
sudo update-initramfs -u
So, to recap:
- solve the nested posts issue
- add a report troll / spammer button
- make Ruben aka Quidam post in the forum a simple "hello! Bill Gaines has
not kidnapped me and everything is going fine. The distro is doing well." at
least twice a year. :)
I have always been a fan of advertising. (attached) :)
Corrected the typos. I will add the new GNOME logo when I get in tonight and
repost.
Done!
Spammers, with a lot of time. They have nothing better to do with their

It would be nice if each of the language categories broken out into

Or some variation of those.
Hello,
Quebes and Whonix do not appear at
https://www.gnu.org/distros/free-distros.en.html
Neither does Debian but, as far as I know, you can easily run Debian with
only free software.
I would like to know if I could easily try Quebes + Whonix
(https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Qubes) and be

Sorry! Forget this topic. Feel embarrassed, everything went back to normal
after a reboot...
How do I tell the Forum admins to delete this topic?
Here is the explanation why you do not see Debian listed.

I cannot really comment on the others.
You mean that's your personal recap.
I instead tried to recap all requests (I think), not my personal preference.
Hi Magic Banana,
You are 100% correct!
It is indeed VESA driver, and it is not designed by PowerVR. But in that
case, why it works flawless on a Trisquel 7.0, 32-bit version?
Anyway, thank you for input.
Why sure it is my personal recap. After all everything I write and say and
think is nothing but my personal opinion/thought/idea/ :).
You don't Jane. It's ok.
Last time I used it (a tear ago) Midori was incredibly buggy. Lightweight and
fast but full of bugs.
One of the problems with attracting developers is you need *good* developers
and people with the time to actually focus on these sorts of projects. Adding
developers and volunteers can become more work than actually doing it
yourself. I'd rather have one good employee than 100 volunteers
I'm looking at this router:
https://www.thinkpenguin.com/gnu-linux/free-software-wireless-n-broadband-router-gnu-linux-tpe-nwifirouter2
I'd love to have a router that I control and respects my freedom. The problem
is, I don't know what to do with it. I have DSL internet. And the internet
XFCE has mostly taken over my system, but certain GNOME parts still run at
start up and cause me problems. When I lock my PC I sometimes have to enter
my password twice, once to unlock the XFCE screen locker, and then a second
time to unlock the GNOME screen locker running in the background.
I have this router and it is one of the best purchases I've made in a long
time!
I currently have AT as my internet provider and was also given a
modem/router combo. Setting this router up was as easy as logging in to the
provided AT router and disabling wifi, then plugging this router in
Hi.
Thanks, that did the trick! I am now able to work with 16:9 resolutions!
Graphis controller now appears as "Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.4, 128
bits)"
Only thing thing missing for me is to make this kernel the default. I will
not unninstal the other one (Trisquel's default) in case
Don't know if this may be helpful..
Preferences -> Content -> Colors
and see if changing something in there solves it.
Also, does this happen ONLY with Abrowser? When did this start? Did you
install any plugin/addon recently?
There is always the old school way ->
sudo apt remove --purge
That change is supposed to give hardware acceleration without proprietary
pieces? No blobs? Thought it couldn't be done.
nice! Glad that helped!
To make the 3.4 your default kernel you should reboot and see in GRUB the
order in the list. It will be something like this:
kernel bla bla
Advanced options
kernel bla bla or whatever (I don't remember)
You will select "Advanced options" and then you will find the
Looks like Qubes uses Linux with the blobs. Also, by default Whonix uses
Virtualbox, which depends on a non-free compiler since version 4.2. These are
things that seem to be wrong at a glance.
I only have software from videolan for libdvdcss2 and from trisquel. But I
have two packages from local. Should I remove them to get rid of the errors?
I have the keys for videolan and of course trisquel's repo.
Should I remove videolan and install it the official way? sudo sh
Besides the increased feeling of freedom and control, I felt that surfing the
web got much snappier. Latency is really low on this router.
hmmm maybe I should just install the list of programs that parted magic uses
free software compatible ones of course! :)
https://partedmagic.com/programs/
I might be mistaken, but you make it sound like you're ignoring all that's
been said before by deciding what is important only for you.
I like the initiative, but why should we "contact" Trisquel?
Updated
So, you just connect an ethernet cable from one of the LAN ports on the ISP
provided router to the LibreCMC router?
Also, what do you do differently or what capabilities do you have with the
LibreCMC router that you didn't have with the ISP provided router?
Thanks!
can't test it right now, but will give that a try tomorrow. THANKS! :)
Btw, when you do reply to my email, please give me more information on
BitMask. Thanks in advance!
no. that wasn't my intention. That is only my personal wish-list.
I see.
HOWEVER... should I do what was suggested in the comment above? Will my
graphics work better (at least in 2D), than if I just use the standard,
default Trisquel installation configs?
Because even if it is just 2D, it's still good to have my hardware working at
the best possible/libre
I am not sure, but I am inclined to think that a
sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-*
should do the trick. However, I would feel better if someone could validate
that.
I know if you will do a sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-* -s it will show
you what it will remove without actually doing
How do I enable in virt-manager to allow the use of the cd/dvd drive and usb

Probably the easiest way is to go the other way around. Install a bare bones
system and then tack on xfce.
I am planning to install Trisquel on a MacBook Air 2014. I have no problems
purchasing a Wi-Fi adapter. Are there any other problems other than the wi-fi
when using it on a MacBook Air?
Eemeli and I wrote this little program to enable three-finger tap. Please try
it out!
Make sure you cover that Apple logo with a nice GNU sticker :)
I did the same thing, got rid of Gnome's things and changed to XFCE. The
only thing I can tell you is use trial an error. And I would also add that
things don't really "break". As long as you have access to a command line
and an internet connection you can always add the packages back.
This is just a quick little flyer I worked up. I posted in another thread,
but thought I would post here in case someone wanted to use it.
Hey all, I've been having this problem for a while and just living with it,
but I thought it would be worth seeing if anyone else knows the fix.
For some image format, Abrowser greys them out. They still show up, they are
just darkened and look like they have a transparent grey layer
In /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-radeon.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "Radeon"
Driver "radeon"

I'm not sure, but perhaps it happens with transparent PNG images because
I have seen this happening when viewing these type of images when using
GNU IceCat.
Unfortunately no. It's 2D acceleration.
