I tested much GPUs with free software (only). All >> "ALL" ! AMD/ATI GPUs
need non-free firmware data blob, it is not an runnable, just data, but
trully non-free. This blob is about 2kb or about 70 lines of hex code in old
graphics cards, today (for new cards) is about 500kb or even more, it
I thought it seems to be multiple issues and appears way above my pay grade
although if it was me, I might choose to play around with it till I broke it
completely. Thank God it usually all comes out in the wash with a fresh
install! Heh, heh.
I could only find:
https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/install-trisquel-windows-dual-boot-0
which would be useful if you need to shrink an existing Windows to create
free space for Trisquel.
This is really old but still helpful if the first link worked:
AMD gpus require proprietary firmware for video acceleration and get very hot
in the summer. An Intel gpu seems the best option, OP.
Why do not you simply follow the normal procedure for installation?.
40 GB (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes) is more than enough. I typically install
my virtual machines with Debian and LXDE in 10 GB virtual disks and there is
plenty of space left.
For Nvidia cards you can view Nouveau's (free-software Nvidia driver) feature
matrix : https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/FeatureMatrix/
The 7300GT is classified as an NV40, which is supported. You can see which
features are available by looking at its corresponding column.
Are there instructions or vidoes showing how you install trisquel on a 40gb
partition on a 80gb hdd. And with full hdd system encryption.
Hello to everyone. Can anyone tell me if does exist free (as in freedom)
drivers for GPUs GEFORCE 7300GT and AMD Radeon HD 4650?
Notice the questionmark. Read the article's headline.
Thank you.
>Intel CPUs post-2009 post-2013 AMD CPUs.
That stands?
dd for windows: http://www.chrysocome.net/dd
The thing I most object to about that operation is its name and the name of
the OS they include. Purism and PureOS.
If there's one thing the Free Software Foundation, RMS, Trisquel, et al have
been accused of it's "Purism" and fair enough. There are many defensible,
desirable, worthwhile
>Can you even do dd in Windows?
Honestly, I have no idea, Heather. In my 20 years experience with Windows I
haven't even managed to learn something as simple and useful. That's how a
dumb OS succeeds in keeping you a dumb user, or more correctly a subjugated
used.
>lefty loosey, righty
>At best librem is being marketed by someone who doesn't know a thing about
the road to free software given the amount of a mountain they must climb to
get even a part of the ME code opened.
AT worst, yes it is a scam.

Can you even do dd in Windows?
In retrospect, my reluctance to use that command was an irrational fear and
life is going to be so much easier now that I've confronted and conquered it.
"if for input, of for output" isn't harder to remember than "lefty loosey,
righty tighty" but you don't
Have you tried using it without js? Just to see if you get the same
behavior.. Seems strange, I never heard someone complain about this
particular issue which affects you.
>Sorry to hear the Trisquel 6 to 7 upgrade didn't work so well. Me, I would
either start over by reinstalling the good working Trisquel 6, or burn a
Trisquel 7 'mini' install to a dvd and try installing from that directly.
Yeah, that is exactly what I recommended to the OP in the Spanish
>rufus is another program for doing so.
Yes, rufus is very good for the job if you are doing it inside Winnn
