Thanks and however, in Parabola, how to get sources using pacman and guix? :)

Hi all, I switched to XFCE recently. Its becoming my favorite DE. But besides
the point.
One drawback that I have noticed with Trisquel is that I require su
permissions to mount internal HDDs. In MATE it will prompt me to enter a
password, However XFCE doesn't seem to do this when I

I see. I thought you meant both monitors were showing up but onw was labled
"unknown." I'm still a

Here is the output of xrandr:

Jxself suggested you 'sudo apt source'.

I don't have access to another monitor at the moment so I'm going from memory
here, but I'm pretty sure that when I plug in a second monitor via VGA it says
"Unknown VGA"
I figured using a VM would be best. Where can I find the source code?

I'm using Trisquel 8. Once it black-screened I simply backed up my /home dir
to my backup drive and reinstalled. So it's "solved" in the sense that I am
currently using
To clarify, I got the looping message upon installing Trisquel, without
attempting to install any proprietary drivers. If this is the case for you then
you should problably do the blacklist thing, as in my case those messages were
logged and eventually filled up my disk space. However, if the

Have you tried going to System -> Control Center -> Displays?

No. Trisquel does not include proprietary software, but it
No big deal. David can remove threads if you really want to:

AMD is the worst for graphics. On the contrary Intel is the best. If you
have an Intel processor with integrated graphics, you can physically remove
the AMD video card: not only you would get dual monitor support but also
better performances and a smaller energy consumption. With an AMD
Your config mentions 4.4.128 so I first try with mainline Linux-libre:

tar xf linux-libre-4.4.128-gnu.tar.xz
cd linux-libre-4.4.128
wget http://termbin.com/ef1w
mv ef1w .config

Most people get the source using the package manager. That's what it's for.
:) I'm not sure what you mean by "real time" though. This isn't an HTML
document that you can just reload in your browser once you make a change. :)
Depending on what you're doing you might need to compile the
I'm a programmer interested in making changes to the OS, mainly for shiggles
but also to change minor quirks to my liking. What's the most efficient way
to edit the source and test the changes in real time?
UPDATE: This was the result of the "There was a problem with your post. Wait
6 seconds before you resubmit." error. So I wasited, and then found out that
the error was ajust a bug of itself, as I saw the topic posted twice, and I
was like, "oh, S**T!!!"
I just installed Trisquel yesterday. My two monitors are duplicating the
display instead of extending as two separate displays. After trying to
install the Linux proprietary driver for Radeon, it blackscreened on startup.
Are there any libre graphics cards/Trisquel compatible Radeon drivers

Absolutely.. Love Xfce. It has been my exclusive choice for loong time, then
at some point I found myself mixing it with LXDE that I just finally switched
to it and I can say, on old hardware, the difference is visible and
significant, really.
You should read 'man systemd.service'.
I did purchase one diskless TerranForce barebone and subsequently installed
HDD by myself. Of course, the barebone came with original HDD bracket and
screws.
But the problem is that very few users are willing to even reinstall the
preloaded operating system. They usually don't replace
