Hi Majin,
A while back I searched for something related and in one of the forums the
use of ghostscript was recommended. I've used it and so far I am satisfied. I
am not savvy, so others forum members might help, but that's how I've been
using it:
In terminal:
gs -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH
another update: tried to open abrowser through terminal, and I got:
(abrowser:6454): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 12:00:27.570: g_object_ref:
assertion 'object->ref_count > 0' failed
Segmentation fault
Apparently this could be something related to nautilus?
update: I'm able to run seamonkey; LibreOffice is working fine as well.
Hi all,
I hope somebody could help me solve this situation. I logged in this morning
and synaptic's update box popped up with a bunch of software update
(including abrowser, kernel etc). After updating & rebooting, the following
is broken:
- abrowser doesn't start at all;
- evolution
Dear all,
Ever since I became convinced of the importance of the Free Software
movement, I - an average joe computer user - have been only using free
software for my personal computing. I applaud all the efforts.
However, there is much work to be done. Let me briefly explain my situation:
Concordo inteiramente, obrigado por trazer este assunto.
Realmente isto é uma lástima. Quando mora nos EUA, tinha contas no Bank of
America e Huntington e sempre consegui ter acesso ao internet banking usando
Trisquel/abrowser sem problemas. Aqui no Brasil? Não consigo acessar nenhuma

I've been happily using Trisquel as my sole OS for the past 3 years, and
loving every bit of it ;-)
I happen to have the same problem as mps, and at least with me the problem is
restricted to abrowser.
This happened after one of the recent upgrades (maybe a month ago?). I didn't
complain before because I know where to click (left button to cancel), but it
does bother me as well...
Thank you for the quick reply jxself - it's always nice and educational to
read your posts :-)
Dear all,
I hope some of you can help me with some advice regarding e-mail programs,
specifically IceDove.
I am using trisquel 7, with IceDove 38.8.0 installed. Currently, I am having
difficulties setting up a gmail IMAP account (I cannot get past the
authentication window, an issue
***SOLVED***
Hi all,
The issue went away after I manually updated the kernel (
https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/update-linux-libre-kernel )
Life is back to normal - yay :-)
vry interesting... I just downloaded seamonkey 2.40 64 bit version, but
didn't install the noscript add-on.
seamonkey crashed on loading jnnp.bmj.com :/
on the other hand, googlemaps loaded just fine mysteries of nature...
Update: just started using Tor Browser directly from Tor Project's website;
works like a charm, no crashes... maybe I will just forget about
IceCat/abrowser and only use Tor Browser from now on ;)
Thank you, I appreciate the input.
Trying to clarify:
- I do not have add-ons installed; I used the "disable javascript" feature
from abrowser itself (from about:home)... I don't have LibreJS installed.
- Even though openstreetmap is an alternative, I am still unable to open
JNNP's website.
Update:
- abrowser had no add-ons installed.
- I completely uninstalled abrowser+icecat; sudo apt-get update, update,
autoremove.
- rebooted, installed just abrowser and rebooted.
- tried the fresh installation of abrowser; websites mentioned continue
crashing.
- I then checked the
Hi all,
After updating Trisquel 7 today, both Abrowser and IceCat suddenly crash when
a few webpages are opened.
One in particular is GoogleMaps
Another is a the the webpage of the Jornal of Neurology, Neurosurgery &
Psychiatry ( www.jnnp.bmj.com )
Has anyone experienced the same? Are
Hi Lorbeer,
I use a Dell Inspiron 15 running Trisquel 7, and have no problem using the
HDMI output to a projector/screen; this is what I actually use for
presentations (w/LibreOffice Impress) whenever I have the option (i.e.
connecting my own laptop, otherwise I just bring a PDF of the
Unfortunately I am having the same problems with Nautilus as well, and could
not find a solution. The keyboard input to Nautilus halts (cannot input
anything in the search fields, and Ctrl+C/Ctr+V also does not work), even
though I am able to type in other programs (Abrowser, LibreOffice
Perfect! Problem solved!
That's excatly what was missing :-)
Many, many thanks!
It just refreshes the panel, icons still missing :/
Hi all,
I hope somebody can help me with a problem that just happened to me. Earlier
today I suspended my notebook, but when I opened it again, the usual task bar
icons (time, battery time, volume, network/wifi) disappeared and I do not
know how to have them back.
After rebooting, the
