If its a network of your own computers then a cloud is it not? I have been
looking at OwnCloud. It seems like a self hosted cloud, potentially more user
friendly way of syncing files accross all of your computers. Is this an
incorrect assessment?
There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers ;P This is one of the few open
membership forums for people wanting to use only free code software, so these
kinds of questions often come up here. In some ways I think it would be
better if there was a separate forum for discussion of free code
"Is there a cloud service like that available?"
There is no cloud, only other people's computers. :) Think on that and
rephrase the question into "Is there someone else's computer I can use?" :)
I assume what you're looking for is a file sync/ backup service. There is an
ownCloud client in the Trisquel repositories, which can be used with an
openmailbox.org account.
I don't think its a dumb question. This thread is helpful to me.
Thank you all for the helpful information. I should have done some more
research before asking a dumb question. I will be more careful next time.
I would like to use something like Dropbox with trisquel. Is there a cloud
service like that available?
