I don't know if it was Snap or Flatpak, but [one of these] had a issue reported
in Trisquel, in which they would allow installing from the default repository
maintained by the package manager, that wouldn't be a problem if the repository
had policy to include only GNU FSDG compliant packages.
Debian's testing repository has the latest gajim package. However, I'm not
sure whether Trisquel (based on an outdated LTS version of Ubuntu) meets the
version requirements of the dependencies.

On debian 9 64bit I installed
flatpak 1.2.4 - 4
gajim 1.1.2
omemo 2.6.26
Gajim and omemo runs.
I was searching for a way to have Gajim + OMEMO on Trisquel [0], then someone
told me my GTK version was too old, and my only chance was to use Flatpak
installation [1], and then installing plugins [2].
That's been my first time I hear of Flatpak. What is your opinion?
Is everything Libre?
Its too bad this isn't a Snap either as Ubuntu 14.04/Trisquel 7 supports it
via snapd.
This is a tad irrelevant now but the reason flatpak couldn't be installed is
because in that PPA it's not available for Ubuntu trusty (upon which Trisquel
7 is based)
Checked configuration, passed authentication, set up succeeded :-)

So I can't set it up.

Ik ook!
Thank you. Found, installed.
If you can afford to use an older (still stable) version, there's one in the
Trisquel repositories: http://packages.trisquel.info/belenos/linphone.
Hi, it's Linphone Desktop Version -

As mentioned earlier, flatpak is just a way for installing programs. It would
be good if you were to say what the actual name of the voip software you
wanted is. Surely it has a name... :)

That's weird. What did you do and what's the output?
Did you read your terminal when installing?
If I can let the Softphone project manage the VOIP phone connection, then I
can take the step to use a libre cmc router, and ditch the physical phone.
Not everybody can be a professional programmer/hacker. Don't worry, I'm from
the Netherlands :-)

Thank you. Tried again to install the PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~alexlarsson/+archive/ubuntu/flatpak), after that if I
run the command flatpak it says command not found. I don't know if it's me or
the PPA, but since it's built for Ubuntu, I can't complain.
Flatpak is just a way to install software, the softphone application or any
other software you might want to install via flatpak won't be there.
You gotta install flatpak with the PPA and then download the software you
want and install it with Flatpak.
However, I don't know which package
Hi all,
I'm new here. Running Trisquel 7. Want to run Softphone (program to manage
VOIP phone through internet). It requires an app inside Flatpak. Flatpak
isn't in the Trisquel repo. I found a PPA for Flatpak, but it didn't contain
the Softphone app.
Flatpak is supported in the Debian
