You can try upgrading/downgrading the kernel. Also, Trisquel 7 wasn't officialy released yet and might still have some issues. Have you tried suspend in Trisquel 6?

Yes, Trisquel 6 suspends and resumes perfectly. It must be something in T7 then, rather than a missing proprietary blob. Good to know. I shall abide patiently until a more polished version arrives.
