The brightness buttons on the laptop itself, and the corresponding ones on the external keyboard have F5/F6 set up to adjust brightness. Neither work. I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with the Radeon. Thanks.

I have Trisquel installed on an Acer Aspire 7739 and don't experience any problems like this. Did you install all the updates after installing the system? Maybe there is a fix already in the updated packages.

I'm skeptical of just coreboot or Skype-replacement development succeeding at freeing users' computers. You need nontrivial skills to flash coreboot (unless it's on a sufficiently old system where someone provides trustworthy binaries, like Lenovo does), and to use the Skype-replacement you need

Any theme I apply it only affects already opened windows, new windows are using the gtk (3?) theme (set with lxappeareance), with kde colors. The behavior is also in Triskel, not just KDE on top of Trisquel; and it affects all themes (Oxygen included). Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.
