Trisquel 7 has newer software that Trisquel 6, and will be supported longer (Trisquel 6 is supported until 2017, Trisquel 7 until 2019). That's all. Other noticeable differences are just an indirect result of using newer versions of specific programs.

To be clear, it doesn't correspond with any Debian version. Ubuntu is based on a version of Debian Sid (Unstable). But the software in Debian 7 is more or less similar to the software in Trisquel 6, and the software in Debian 8 is more or less similar to the software in Trisquel 7.

AMD is not really any better than Intel in that department, and it's worse in the sense that their integrated GPUs don't work properly with Linux-libre (they require proprietary firmware blobs to function fully).

Trisquel 7 is based on Ubuntu 14.04 while Trisquel 6 is based on Ubuntu 12.04. The biggest difference between the two that is noticeable, as with most versions of most distros, is how new/old the packages in the repositories are.
