Nice find!
Could you tell me what the clock/RAM/CPU/net thing in the top-right corner of
the screen is called?

Ik ook!
I wonder why joindiaspora.com is not allowed with libreJS. Am I doing
something wrong or can diaspora really only be used via non-free JS?
I have been made aware that the overall Diaspora project currently
doesn't seem to care that much about freeing the JavaScript that the
visitor/guest receives. While in the *server-side* the JS is received as
free/libre, because it has a copy of the license, a license notice, and
also the complete
Sure. The package is 'conky'. It requires a .conkyrc file in your /home. I'll
attach mine so you can modify it to your liking.

I am not familiar with windows phones.
Is it using mtp?

Some people report the same problem, which was solved by rebooting the phone.

No worries, the HDD is encrypted but empty for now. Thanks though, this might
work just fine.
It's complicated, it's an internal HDD, and the working machine is a laptop.
It might work with gnome-disks as sudo or gksudo, I didn't try yet.
Thanks, Supertramp.
My mom's MS Lumina phone wouldn't mount either, a year or so ago. I assumed
that it was desigend that way to make people use MS' server to access photos
etc from a PC. May be wrong; I didn't give this too much attention then.
I use a german keyboard layout and always map the "escape" key on the
"capslock" key, since I use vim and this comes very handy. The rest of my
tuning goes basically to my vimrc and the related plugins, also I make my i3

In a prior topic, I read that Raspberry Pi devices have lack-of-freedom
problems, and to check out beagleboards such as beaglebone black.
However, for beaglebone black wireless, a little hunting shows that the TI
wireless chip uses binary blob firmware:

Since you're looking at individual components (like WiFi), then consider the
graphics too.

Of course, you could ignore the graphics system and not use that. Just like
you could ignore the WiFi and use wired networking instead.

I use i3wm automatic configuration to set keys.
As I use Emacs I shift Ctrl and Mayus.

Excellent thought and link, thank you.
The purpose is experimenting with mesh networking. I suspect these beagle
boards are overpowered for that purpose, but it seems like it would be easier
to use debian for those of us with less low-level experience. So graphics are
not a concern, but net

If I guessed right about their reason for not letting the phone mount, then I
doubt that it will mount on a Windows computer.
